Happy Full Moon!

Are you ready to connect to the Crone? The Crone's cauldron is her tool for alchemy, activation, clearing, and transformation. We will be exploring cauldron magick this Full Moon weekend! The Full Moon is a Supermoon, so Her energy will feel potent all weekend long. A Full Moon in Taurus ignites all the senses and embraces relaxation, pampering, and pleasure. So we are making some witchy recipes in our cauldrons that do just that!

Below are 3 ways to work with the cauldron's in your life this Full Moon. Try them all together for a full night of celebration, or pick and choose what you need right now. Listen to your intuition!

The Cauldron Bath

Our bathtubs can become big cauldrons to ignite, relax, and clear our cells and energy fields with a little intention and magick.

All you will need is:

  • 2-3 cups of salt: epsom, pink salt, or sea salt
  • 2-3 tablespoons of oil - coconut oil is my favorite
  • 10 drops of essential oil - you can make any mixture you prefer, but I love Ylang Ylang, especially for this Venusian Moon (Taurus is ruled by Venus)
  • Any herbs and dried flowers for more prettiness, but completely optional

Combine all your ingredients in a bowl and mix with a wooden spoon (or your wooden wand!) Draw your bath, set the mood, and light candles, surround your bathtub, or cauldron with crystals and play enchanting music. Make yourself a cup of tea, and make sure you have a soft robe to put on afterward.

When you bath is ready, take your bowl and pour your special recipe in. Stir the cauldron with your dominant hand, or the sale wooden spoon clockwise. As you stir your cauldron you can say something like this aloud:

"I call upon the elements of alchemy, Air, Fire, Water, and Earth, to be present during this healing ceremony. I ask the Crone (or any specific deity you choose) to be present and nourish these waters, that my body may seek refuge, healing, and transformation in this cauldron. And so it is."

Soak in this cauldron as long as you want. And make sure to hydrate yourself throughout and afterwards. If you do not have a bathtub, you can modify this recips to be a foot soak!

Cauldron Clearing

The Magic Circle. John William Waterhouse. 1886

Our cauldrons can be used to alchemize plant allies, using their smoke and energy to clear our spaces and invoke new energy. Sacred smoke shifts energy and can bring us closer to our intentions.

If you don't have a witchy apothecary set up, do not fear! You can use dried herbs from your pantry! Here is what you need:

  • Your cauldron - fire proof container
  • Charcoal disc, or candle
  • Lighter
  • Your dried herbs - recipes are endless!

Fall Recipe:

  • Dried rosemary - 1 tablespoon
  • Dried ginger - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Pumpkin pie spice - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Star Anise (optional)

You can also add dried sage leaves, palo santo chips, for more smoke and aroma!

Combine all those ingredients into a bowl or mortar and pestle. Now, add 2 - 3 whole bay leaves. Bay leaves are known as Witch's note paper - you can write a word you would like to invoke into your energy field and then crumble it up into the rest of the incense.

Light your charcoal disc, or candle and set it in your cauldron. Now add pinches of the incense into the cauldron setting it on the disc or near the flame to make it smoke. You don't want to use it all up at once! Always be mindful and cautious, the cauldron can get hot!

Start be clearing your energy and body, and then go around your house and clear each doorway and window- the thresholds of your home, letting energy in and out. You can say:

"Sacred smoke of the cauldron - shift the energy in the space, only (say your keywords or intentions here) can enter this place."

Say this at each threshold. And thank the elements, herbs, and Crone for their support and magick.

Cauldron Cider

Your very own soup pot or crockpot can be used to make healing brews and potions!

The Danaides. John William Waterhouse. 1888

The Danaides. John William Waterhouse. 1888

What you will need:

  • 1 liter of apple cider
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • Apple slices - I used one apple
  • Cinnamon sticks - how ever many you would like!
  • A dash of cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice - use as much as you would like
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cloves

Combine all the ingredients into your crockpot, and using a cinnamon stick, stir the cider clockwise and say:

"I stir this potion and set my intentions into motion. As the the light fades, and the dark sets in.. May this brew warm my heart and stoke my fires within."

Set it on the low setting and let it simmer for 2 hours. Serve then enjoy! Add a cinnamon stick to your mug to stir and for garnish! You can also let this simmer on the stove for about 30 minutes or so.

We hope you have a beautiful Supermoon weekend and let us know if you try any recipse from above! Be sure to charge your crystals and decks and try the Crone moon reading from the Spirit de la Lune guidebook!
