Connect With Your Ancestors | Full Moon & Equinox Sangria Ceremony

Happy Full Moon & Autumn Season!

Connect With Your Ancestors | Full Moon & Equinox Sangria Ceremony | Spirit de la Lune

This is the first Full Moon of the Autumn Season for the Northern Hemisphere.

It seems we are all looking forward to the colder weather and the return of the spirit world.

The veil begins to thin around the Autumn Equinox, being at it’s thinnest during Samhain.

Some will be experience the Full Moon in Pisces on Sept. 24th, and some Sept. 25th in the sign of Aries. This is a “cusp” Full Moon, between the elements, water and fire are emotional and passionate

Connect With Your Ancestors | Full Moon & Equinox Sangria Ceremony | Spirit de la Lune

So there may be a level of drama you aren’t quite expecting. This is a very transitional and intentse time for many.

The card that was pulled for this cycle during last New Moon’s post was Taurus: The Lover. A wonderful reminder for this season, especially because we are in the Shadow Period of a Venus Retrograde.

Venus is the Goddess of love and relationships, so when retrograde, relationships might be tested. The retrograde will take place in the sign of Scorpio, ruler of sex, death and taboo, so expect Venus goes retrograde from October 5th - November 15th.

“You may be confronted with obstacles that keep you from focusing on what you love to do. Let Taurus be a reminder to focus on love this Full Moon. Let yourself be immersed in love, self-care, focus on healing family trauma (look out for an amazing tarot/oracle spread to connect with your ancestors for our Full Moon post!)... get clear about what is worthy of your time and energy... love is always a worthy endeavor. Whether it's the love you have for your family and friends, yourself, or a project near and dear to your heart, or all of the above. Focus on love.” (From the New Moon Energy Report)

For this Full Moon and Autumn Equinox we have a two part ritual for tonight. The veil between world is thinning, and our ancestors and lineage have the opportunity to speak to us and visit with us. What do they have to say?

Ancestor Spread

From Marissa Moondaughter

Before beginning, do what you need to do to get into a grounded, meditative state. This could be a ritual bath, deep breathing, setting up an ancestor altar, or meditation. Surround yourself with white light to protect your energy while you contact the Spirit world. Make it very clear you are only contacting your lineage and malevolent spirits and energies are not welcome in your circle. Pour a glass of Underworld sangria for yourself and your ancestors!

Connect With Your Ancestors | Full Moon & Equinox Sangria Ceremony | Spirit de la Lune

We created this ancestor spread for this time of year, when the veil begins to thin between our world and the spirit world. As we get closer to Samhain, or Halloween, the veil is the thinnest to connect with spirits who have passed. This spread can be done if you do not know much about your roots, or even if you do! It can also be done any time to feel more connected to your ancestral roots.

In the center of your spread set up any items that represent your family or past loved ones. This could be pictures, jewelry, or items past down. It could be a family crest. Put whatever it is that makes you feel more connected to your family. If you do not have objects, write your intentions for this reading, or any questions you have for your ancestors.

Light a candle, or incense as an offering, and say something like this:

"As the veil thins, I invite my ancestors/elders, (feel free to name specific people) into this circle. I ask for your guidance and blessings. I am open to any messages you have for me. Thank you for supporting our lineage with your wisdom and teachings."

The bottom 6 cards that are facing upward are 6 Major Arcana cards, of your choice, to represent certain family members, or certain archetypes you wish to communicate with. These are the cards we chose, but feel free to choose other ones that resonate with you more

Connect With Your Ancestors | Full Moon & Equinox Sangria Ceremony | Spirit de la Lune

1. and 2. represent the ancient teachings and foundations for your roots; this can go back to ancient times.

3. and 4. represent your recently deceased elders, grandparents, uncles and aunts, parents -- the mother/father figures in your line.

5. and 6. represent the teachers, healers, and initiators of your traditions - they are the gatekeepers of the spiritual wisdom of your kin.

1. Star

2. Moon

3. Emperor

4. Empress

5. Hierophant

6. High Priestess

I tried to choose Yin and Yang complementary figures for each position since I am not very connected to my lineage. Each card you place on top is the message and teaching they have for you.

Before you choose the top card for each position, visualize the person or archetype in front of you and ask your question, or say hello. How do they respond to you? What is their expression or mannerisms? Then draw the card and proceed with your reading.

When you finish your reading, thank them for being with you tonight. When you sleep do not be surprised if your dreams have your ancestors in them. Pay attention and see what other messages they have for you.

Remember to be gentle with yourself. Lineage/ancestor work is very powerful and emotional. If you do not feel connected, do not feel discouraged. Allow this reading to be the knock on the door – let your ancestors know you are open to them and wish to build a relationship with them.

A great way to build a relationship with your ancestors is through leaving an offering on your altar. You can choose to leave a note, a picture, a candle or an offering of food. In the spirit of the season we are creating a Pomegranate Sangria- as an offering to the underworld and our ancestors.

Underworld Pomegranate Sangria

Brew your own spirits

Connect With Your Ancestors | Full Moon & Equinox Sangria Ceremony | Spirit de la Lune

There is a reason brews are called "spirits." For thousands of years our ancestors have left offerings of libations to their ancestors and the spirit world. They would pour their Mead, or ale, or wine on to the earth so their late loved ones could still enjoy the brews they loved while they were alive.

Before you invoke your ancestors and try our ancestor spread, brew this amazing recipe to invoke the Queen of the Underworld, Persephone, and make sure to pour a glass for your ancestors. Alcohol is optional in this recipe.

Underworld Pomegranate Sangria:

2 parts Pomegranate juice

1 part apple cider (or the whole bottle if you are not using alcohol)

1/2 cup Brandy (optional)

1 bottle of fruity red wine (optional)

Dash of cinnamon

Fruits:

Pomegranate seeds

Apple slices (slice horizontally so you can see the pentacle)

Blood red orange slices

Blueberries (frozen are great to use)

Any other seasonal fruit

Connect With Your Ancestors | Full Moon & Equinox Sangria Ceremony | Spirit de la Lune

Combine all ingredients into a big pitcher and let it sit under the moonlight for an hour, and then transfer to the fridge for at least another 1-2 hours.

Pour a glass for your ancestors while you do the the ancestor spread, and pour a glass into your garden as an offering to the spirit world.

Add a cinnamon stick into your glass and enjoy!

Don’t forget to share some with your loved ones as well. The card pulled for this week is the Lovers card and with Venus going retrograde in Scorpio we could all use some.

This Sangria would be a great addition to a Full Moon Sistar Circle or Mabon celebration you might hold!

Don’t forget to charge and cleanse your crystals and decks under the moonlight!

2018 Blessing Moon Chakra Alignment Ritual

Happy Full Blessing Moon!

Let's Align with Our Bliss!

chakra stones.jpeg

In order to truly follow our bliss, we must align to our centers once again. Our energy centers, or Chakras, run along our spine and are located along the center of our body. When we align back to our center we can truly connect to our purpose, find clarity, and our bliss will be easy to follow!

So let's do a simple Chakra alignment meditation under the Full Blessing Moon! Gather 7-8 stones, one for each Chakra, your Blessing Moon card from the deck, and a glass jar of spring water. That's it!

The stones shown here from bottom to top: Red Jasper, Carnelian, Citrine, Green Jade, Turquoise, Blue Apatite, Amethyst, and  Clear Quartz.

Let's get started!

Find a quiet place where you will not be disturbed (under the moonlight is best!), and create a space to lay down or sit comfortable. Take your stones and if you are laying down place them along  the center of your body: your red stone by your pubic bone or groin area; orange stone about 2 inches below your belly button; your yellow stone on your belly button; the green (or pink) stone resting on your heart; the blue stone on your throat; the purple stone between your eyes (your third-eye); clear stone at the top of your forehead, or on the ground next to the top of your head.

If you decide to sit down surround yourself with your stones in the same order, or hold them within your palms. And now relax and enjoy the energy of the Full Moon and your crystals. Notice the energy of each stone interacting with your energy... notice any emotions or thoughts that surface and allow them to rise. Are there any messages coming through? Visualize the beautiful Full Moon ray's coming down through your Crown chakra and move down through your Root chakra... cleansing and recharging each of your energy centers.

Stay in this beautiful meditation until you feel revitalized and realigned with your mind, body, and spirit. Feel  free to journal about your experience afterward.

With the same stones you used during your meditation, now it is time to make Chakra Blessing Moon Water!

Depending on the the type of crystals you use, you can either place the crystals in the glass jar with spring water or surround the jar with the stones. Always research which stones are safe to use in water prior to use... or when in doubt, leave it out!

Place the Blessing Moon card underneath the jar and let your Chakra water charge under the Full Blessing Moon in Capricorn! Let is charge all night under the moonlight! You can make a big pitcher or small bottle, whatever you prefer!

In the morning bring your water inside and take the gemstones out. Feel free to drink the whole glass to really help integrate the alignment, or make smaller bottles of this water, or even just water your plants with it. I would at least drink a couple of sips to get the benefits for your chakras!

We hope this simple realignment ritual recharges you and brings you back to center. Feel free to do this whenever  you need a pick-me-up.

Chakra Blessings!

2018 Flower Moon Ceremony: Create Your Own Flower Moondala

Lunar Beltane blessings and Happy Flower Moon!

flower mandala 2.jpg
IMG_8974.jpg

The Full Moon in Scorpio ignites the beautiful energy of the pagan holiday Beltane, typically celebrated on May 1st... also known as May Day! The season is in full bloom and it is a time to ignite your passions, your love for life, and celebrate! The merging and union of the Sacred Masculine and Feminine can be seen within and without and can bring in healing, new love, and creative energy is high!

The Full Moon in Scorpio also happens to land on April 29th or April 30th depending on time zone!

For this Full Moon ceremony we are showing you two ways to celebrate the beauty in your life! You can create a Flower Moondala out in nature or a Flower Moondala in the comfort of your home!

Flower Moondala Ceremony

Gather flowers from your garden, or buy a beautiful bouquet or two, to bring with you out to nature. It could be your favorite piece of land, a park you have been wanting to explore, or a hike you have been looking forward to. Feel free to bring a picnic and your friends or lover!

When you find the place to create your Moondala, ground yourself into the land. Take off your shoes and feel the energy of the Earth move up through your feet and ignite each chakra.

From this grounded place begin to create your Moondala. Focus on the center and work your way outward. Allow your intuition and creativity to flow and take your time with this process. Work with the flowers you brought and the nature around you.

If you are close to the ocean, feel free to create a mandala with the shells and seaweed washed upon the shore. Or if you are experiencing the Autumn season gather the fallen leaves, branches, and other bits of nature that is shedding on to the ground. Commune with the land you live on and honor her with her unique beauty!

These images were found on Pinterest... if you know the source let us know!

Elemental Blessing

After you create your beautiful Flower Moondala you can make an optional offering for the Elements. What you will need is:

  • Air: Sage or incense or just your breath
  • Fire: Your favorite perfume/anointing oil
  • Water: Moon water or wine in your chalice
  • Earth: A little bowl of sea salt or pink himilayan salt

While honoring each element, offer prayers to the land and intentions for the rest of your season.

Honor the Air element but saying yourself and your group and the Moondala in a clockwise motion. You can also gently blow your breath or prana/life force energy over the Moondala.

Honor Fire with the anointing oil and anoint each chakra on your body. Add a few drops to the center of the Moondala.

Honor Water by drinking wine or moonwater from your chalice. Pour some libations on to the land and around the outside of the Moondala.

Honor Earth by taking the bowl of salt and taking a few morsels on your tongue taking the Earth into your body. Sprinkle the rest of the salt around the Moondala creating a ring.

Now enjoy the rest of your time here! Have a picnic, dance and sing, make love, play music... Celebrate your life!

Flower Moon.jpg

If you cannot go out into nature, bring nature to you. You could create a Flower Moondala on your altar or outside on your patio or backyard. Follow the steps above!

Full Moon Intention Planting Ceremony

Full Planting Moon | Spirit de la Lune

Happy Full Planting Moon!

The Planting Moon represents the time of year when the soil has finally thawed enough for planting.

Seedlings are able to root downward while simultaneously breaking up through the soil towards the sun.

This Full Moon is a powerful time for our goals and holds deep symbolism for us and our own goals. Take time to check in with your New Moon intentions today. Notice your progress and make the preparations for the next steps you need to take.

Tonight's Full Moon takes place in the sign of Libra, which brings balance and harmony to the forefront of our minds. Libra also affects partnerships and relationships, this might cause us to notice what is out of balance in our personal relationships.

Mercury is Retrograde until the 15th of April, and Venus moved into Taurus today. This is going to continue to put a big spotlight on our relationships and how we communicate with one another. It's important to be gentle with ourselves and others.

Planting Moon Ceremony | Spirit de la Lune

Be aware of how your actions and words can either help or harm others. Every word that you speak holds the same power as a seed. Use this power wisely.

During last month's New Moon Energy Reading we pulled Taurus: The Lovers. This card shows us the importance of gentleness right now. With Venus moving into Taurus today our relationships and our selves will need some extra love. We have so much going on up in the skies right now, the best thing we can do is extend some love.

Taurus is an Earth Sign and pulling this card also shows how much we need grounding from Mother Earth right now! For tonight’s Full Moon Ceremony we are going to get our hands a bit dirty.

Soil is full of negative ions that can not only help boost our moods and serotonin levels, but it helps stabilize blood pressure and boosts our immune system!

This ceremony also takes the physical act of planting a seed along with our intention to help solidify it within ourselves as well as giving the universe an extra boost with our determined action.

Full moon intention planting ceremony.

Intention Planting Ceremony | Spirit de la Lune

Having a plant represent your intention can help remind you of what you "planted." It acts as an anchor for us; each time we see it, we are reminded of the goals that we have put into the soil for ourselves.

You will need:

  • your intention( from last new moon preferably)
  • A seed or plant that needs repotting
  • Soil
  • Pot for planting
  • Moon water
  • Crystals or other items that support your intention.

Intention Setting | Spirit de la lune

1. Write your intention on a new slip of paper. Be sure to write your intention in present tense. Using "I am" phrases rather than "I want" can be helpful when making and setting intentions.

You can use your intention from last New Moon, or use an entirely new one. It's best to keep the intention short and sweet, and write it on a small piece of paper.

2. Fill a new pot with fresh soil and add your intention to the base of the soil. Add a bit of water to this base soil and a little bit more soil. The soil should become maluable almost like a loose clay.

Spirit de la Lune | Intention Planting Moon Ceremony

3. Plant your seed or re-pot a plant that needs it.

Don't forget to break up the roots gently of the plant you are repotting, and be give it some soil from it's "home" pot to help keep it comfortable.

4. Water your plant with Moon Water until the soil is sufficiently damp. (Water that has been left out in the moonlight will hold the lunar energy, and can be very beneficial to us and our house plants!)

5. Decorate your plant with crystals or items that represent your intention to you.

If you are like me, you can even give your plant a name to help solidify the intention even more. I named this one Treasure to help me remember my intention as well as give my plant a bit of a personality.

Spirit de la Lune | Intention Planting Moon Ceremony
Spirit de la Lune | Intention Planting Moon Ceremony

Having a plant represent an intention can help remind you of what it is that you have planted. It also acts as an reminder for us each time we pass it or see it.

Take notice of the growth and see how it correlates with your intention and goals. All things in life are connected; remember to give the plant and your goals/intentions adequate attention and energy for growth and progression.

Charge your plant under the full moonlight and continue giving it moon water and your attention when you can.

Don’t forget to charge your deck and crystals under the moonlight tonight!

We would love to see a photo of your intention plant! Please share with us on instagram or in the comments!

2018 Seed Moon Ceremony: Dream Seed Satchel

Happy Full Seed Moon!

virgo.jpeg
File Feb 24, 2 31 45 PM.jpeg

Depending on where you live, some people will experience the Full Moon on March 1st or 2nd... so double check in your location!

We are in the Earthy sign of Virgo. The Full Moon in Virgo can be a great ally to get you organized and help you grow your dreams in a realistic and obtainable way. Be careful with overwhelm and trying to do too much all at once... Virgo energy can help you get really focused or really picky which could delay your progress. Either way the energy can be very intense!

Tonight, we will show you how to connect into your own dream seeds that you are planting and growing and use the Virgo energy to bring focus to them in a fun and creative way.

Dream seed satchel ceremony.jpeg

We are making Dream Seed Satchels!

Dream Seed Satchels are portable vision boards of your dreams and goals. Instead of pasting items to a big board, you can carry them with you, keep them on your altar, or someplace you will see them frequently, and you can even use the satchel as an inspirational oracle that you have created yourself! Let's begin!

What you need:

  • A cute bag or box... this is the satchel
  • Magazine cutouts or images you have printed off the computer that are connected to your dreams and goals for the new season or long term goals
  • Add an item for each element: a certain crystal or herb for earth; feather for air; oil for fire; moon water
  • talismans or jewelry you want to charge with your intentions
  • crystals that compliment your dream seeds
  • You can even add the Mini Moon Oracle Set!
  • dried herbs or incense that compliment your goals
  • For the Virgo energy you could even write a to-do list or clearly write out your intentions and dream seeds
  • anything else you would like to add... use your imagination and intuition!
  • a pair of scissors
satchel items.jpeg

Begin to clearly set your intentions and what you wish to focus on for the satchel. Is there a specific theme?

Take your time to gather all your items and images and place them all out in front of you and your satchel.

Feel free to cast a circle and ground yourself before you begin to put the satchel together. Feel your body growing roots into the Earth and the energy of Earth rising up into your body... Feel the Moon's energy cascade down your Crown chakra and let these two energies merge  in your heart chakra. Feel this energy move through each arm and through you hands. You are now ready to create!

portable satchel.jpeg

You can begin however you wish, there is no particular order of things unless you have one in mind. As you place each item in your satchel state why you are putting it in or how you wish to work with this item. State it out loud so you put vibrations into your dream seeds!

For the elemental offerings start with Air, then Fire, Water, and then Earth... this sequence builds the energy and momentum of your dream seeds. For the oil and water, you could literally place on drop of each in the satchel in case you are worried about them spilling.

Take as much time as you need to put your satchel together. And once it is completed, take your satchel in both hands at heart level. Again feel the Earth and Moon's energy moving through you, meeting at your heart and through your hands into the Dream Seed Satchel. And say this blessing aloud:

Through Earth and Moon
I am revived
In this satchel, my dream seeds cometh alive
As this new season arrives,
I am ready to Thrive!

Place this satchel out under the Full Moon along with any other decks or crystals you wish to charge and cleanse.

Now carry this satchel with you until your dream seeds bloom!

seed moon ceremony.jpeg

Whenever you need extra inspiration to follow your dream seeds, place your hand in the satchel and take an item out. Let it be your oracle and lead you to your next action. You can do this for daily inspiration or whenever you need an extra push.

We hope you have enjoyed this ceremony and please share your Dream Seed Satchels with us on Instagram! Tag @spiritdelalune and use the hashtags: #tunetothemoon #spiritdelalune

2018 Full Wolf Moon: Create Your own Moon Circle Gathering

Welcome to 2018 and Happy Full Super Wolf Moon!

The Wolf Moon is a time to celebrate with your tribe, so we thought we would show you how to create your own moon circle and celebrate with all your sistars to bring in the new year with lots of love, connection, and joy! Below we will show you the steps to creating a moon circle which you can follow for any full moon or for any ritual work that you want to do -especially in a group setting. Gather your Wolf pack and follow the steps below for a potent Full Moon gathering.  Don't forget to Howl at the Moon together! ;)

Artist: Unknown, please let us know if you do!

Artist: Unknown, please let us know if you do!

Invoke a theme

Before you partake in leading a moon ceremony, it is good to know the intention you wish to invoke and manifest this Full Moon. This will be the anchor for everything you do within the ceremony and will help guide you. Because it is a new year, you could do a Word of the Year ceremony with your tribe. You can read how we did ours here last year. The theme could be releasing 2017 or the theme can be self-love, abundance... whatever it may be this will be the focus of your moon ceremony.

Create the space

It is time to set Sacred Space. Where are you having the ceremony? Are you having it in your living room, or outdoors in a park or at the beach? Your environment will also play a vital role through the ceremony. What objects will you need for your ceremony? Will you be creating a potion or some kind of craft? You can also designate sistars to bring certain items. I also always suggest having items for each element: Air, Fire, Water, and Earth. you would place all your ceremony items on your altar... this will be the focal point of your Moon ceremony.

  • Have incense and Sage for Air
  • A candle and anointing oil for Fire
  • Moon water for the Water element... Preferably the water of this current Full Moon. Set water out under the moon for at least 2 hours before the ceremony in a glass or silver bowl or glass pitcher. Fill your chalice with Moon Water and place it on your altar.
  • For Earth you can have a little bowl of salt, a bit of bread or apple slices, or you can create Moon cakes! Also any stones from the mineral Kingdom would be amazing on your altar.

Candles, music, blankets and pillows for your guests to sit on, a drum, your divination tools including our spirit de la lune deck, all would be great resources to dive deeper into the full moon with your tribe. When you set the ambiance... you can drop into your magick very quickly!

Know your Moon Signs

Moon signs can play a vital role in the energy of the Full Moon. This Full Moon will take place for some people on Jan. 1st in the sign of Cancer... But also early on Jan. 2nd depending on your time zone and location. Our planners are all in UTC time so our planner says the Full Moon is January 2nd, but always use an app that is connected to your actual location for the most accurate Moon phase and moon sign. A Cancer Full Moon is very cozy in this phase because Cancer is ruled by the Moon in astrology. Having a Full Moon ceremony at home can add extra coziness, which Cancer loves, or on the beach would be an amazing experience for Cancer, the crab! Research other Moon signs so you can create different ceremonies and invoke different energies for each of the Full Moons for 2018!

Cast a circle

Once all your sistars are here with you, it is time to cast a circle for protection and creating a magical container for your ceremony. The elements play a profound role in manifesting our realities. We must honor each element in order to manifest our desires and maintain the balance of the energies of the circle. To open a circle you will go clockwise to build momentum. Whoever is leading the circle can call in all the elements or you can have different sistars at the different directions call in the Elements. It is up to you and your moon tribe!

Here is a simple way to call on the elements in a circle.

Air Invocation

Stand in a circle around your altar facing East, the direction of Air. (If you Say something like this or similar:

"On this Full moon night we call upon the element of Air, the winds of the East, to bless us in this rite. We welcome your whispers and thank you for your presence."

Now take your smudge wand and light the herbs and let them smoke. Smudge your whole Aura field and body and then pass it on to the next sistar moving in a clockwise manner. Let her do the same and go around until everyone has cleansed themselves. During the circle it's important to stay quiet and meditative as you create this bubble for your magick to take place. Visualize a bright violet light surrounding your circle and your altar space. The element of air is now surrounding you.

Fire Invocation

1youwillneed (1).jpg

Now everyone turn and face the South, the direction for fire. Say something like this or similar:

"We call upon the element of Fire, our sacred flame within to ignite and guide our circle on this Full Moon night. Thank you for your warmth and presence."

Now light the candle that is designated for this element. Take the anointing oil that you have chosen for tonight's circle, and place a drop on the candle. Take a drop of oil for yourself and anoint your heart chakra. Pass the anointing oil around in a clockwise manner and let each sistar anoint her heart chakra before you continue. Visualize a bright Golden Light creating a circle of warmth around your sistars and your altar.

 Water Invocation

Turn and face the West the direction of Water.  Visualize the bright Full Moon just over your circle and altar space, shining her beautiful moonlight upon you all. Say this aloud or something similar:

"We invoke the oceans of the West. Under this luminous Full moon we call upon water to connect us to our intuition and our inner Moon tides. Bless our circle with healing, connection, and love. With this drink, we purify our intentions. Thank you for your presence."

Take the chalice with Moon water and take a sip. Pass the chalice clockwise and let each sistar take a sip of the Moon water. Visualize a sapphire ocean surrounding your circle shimmering under the moonlight.

Earth Invocation

Turn and face the north the direction of Earth. Feel your feet firmly planted on the ground and tell everyone to feel the energy of the Earth move up through their feet and into their body. When you feel rooted and grounded say this or something similar:

"Under the Full Moon we call upon the energy of the Earth, our Great Mother who supports and nourishes us every day. May we always feel grounded and stay connected to our bodies, and to the love of Gaia. May this circle and this ceremony be of service to Mother Earth and to all sentient beings for the highest good of all. Thank you for your presence and protection."

Take the plate of fruit or whatever food you have on your altar and eat a piece off the plate. if you have a bowl of salt, spring a little bit of salt in the direction of North, and sprinkle a little bit on your tongue. Savor the taste and be aware of all your senses in this moment. Pass the plate or bowl along to each sistar in a clockwise motion and stay connected to your body as you take in the element of Earth. Visualize a beautiful crystalline structure surrounding your circle.

Have everyone face the center of the circle, and hold hands. Feel the the energy of the sistarhood growing stronger. Visualize the beautiful rings of the elements surrounding you and flowing through each of you! Ask everyone to call in their guides quietly, and invoke any deities you wish to work with. You are now ready to begin your ceremony!

wolf moon.jpg

Set intentions

Now that the circle is cast, this would be a great time for each sistar to check in and state aloud their intentions for their own journey ahead. Be a witness to each person and allow their voice to be heard. When everyone feels ready, it is time to begin your ceremony!

Body of ceremony

This is the part where you do your craft, make your potion, tell your stories, lead your meditation, etc. Whatever it is that you chose to do tonight this is the time to connect with each sistar, teach your magick, share your hopes and fears and dreams for 2018, etc. You have cast a circle and created the Sacred Space and container to do your work. Have fun, connect, be joyous and celebrate together under the Full Moon!

In our Tune to the Moon Planner, we have a colorable Moondala for each Full Moon! You can color in the Wolf Moondala with your tribe!

Close the circle

After you feel that your ceremony is completed, it is time for you and your tribe to close the circle. A lot of people close the circle going counter-clockwise, but that will usually seal off the energy... So keep this in mind: In your ceremony if you were bringing in new energy you do not want to seal it off yet. You would still want to move clockwise in your circle starting with the East again. If you were banishing old energy and releasing energy in your ceremony, then you would want to move counterclockwise starting with North or Earth element. Just keep those in mind and do what feels right to you.

Stand facing North or East, and just say a heartfelt thank you to each element for their presence and witnessing your journey here tonight. Do this for each element and move in the direction  that you feel is the right way to move for your circle. When you get to the element of Fire, snuff out the candle. After you thank all of the elements, face your altar and hold hands together. Feel your connection as a Sistarhood! Feel the energy of the Earth moving through you and feel the Moonlight flowing into you from the heavens. Move all this energy down from your hands and heart and into the Earth, sending all your love into Gaia. Ground the energy down as a collective. You can ask Gaia to take any residual energy and transmute it into something she can use for the land and her creatures, and thank Her and the Moon for their guidance and love. Thank all your guides and deities you invoked tonight!

Wine and dine

When doing spiritual work it is best to eat afterward so you can connect back into your body and literally digest the integrations and the energies that you just shifted and transformed within the circle. If you eat before, all your energy is going into digesting your food so your spiritual work probably wouldn't be as potent as it could be. You can make your moon circle a potluck and have each sistar bring snacks and dishes and have a feast! Make sure to leave a little offering plate outside for the fairies and to the spirits of the land. This is a time to connect and share what's been going on with you, and what was happening for you during the ceremony. Relax and be present with your tribe.

Full Cold Moon Ceremony | Creating a Witches Yule Bauble

Happy Super Moon in Gemini!

The Winter season is upon us in the Northern Hemisphere as our Full Cold Moon transitions into the trickster sign of Gemini. This Full Moon is the harbinger of transformation and change for us as the Winter season creeps it's way into our lands and our lives.

The Winter season can cause us to face our own darkness in a way that is both helpful and transformative to us if we allow it.

This Full Moon is also a Super Moon!

Super Moon's take place when a full moon coincides with the moon's pedigree... this is a rare event that causes the moon to be 14-15% larger during this cycle, which makes this lunar energy even more potent!

The Gemini influence from both the Full moon and Mercury are going to make that trickster energy feel even more prevalent in our lives, so try to practice some patience with others and yourself.

Super Moon Spirit de la Lune

The card that we pulled for this phase last month was even the Super Moon card, and our reminder was to be prepared for anything during this time...

"The emotionally charged Full Moon is in the airy sign of Gemini and goes opposite the Sun in Sagittarius on the 3rd, while on the 1st, Venus entered Sagittarius.. igniting many aspects of communication within our relationships and how we express ourselves to others..."

Mercury is going retrograde today in the sign of Sagittarius; the Explorer, so try to look at things in a new way during this time. Answers can be revealed to you when you look outside the box and realize that anything is possible, and Sagittarius is certainly one of the most creative and open-minded of the zodiac.

There is nothing to be afraid of during a Mercury Retrograde. Keep an open mind. Allow this time to show you what is no longer working in your life, and begin to rebuild in the most innovative way you can find!

Witches Bauble Ornament for Yule Full Cold Moon | Spirit de la Lune

The skies are offering us very potent energy.. we are working with the explosive energy of Air and Fire right now.. so it's important to set some solid intentions for the season ahead!

In tonight's Full Moon Ceremony, we are getting in touch with our inner kitchen and creating Witches Baubles for the Yule Season!

But before we get into our Witches Baubles...

We have some very exciting news!

We are SO excited to introduce a new offering that is very near and dear to our hearts! We have created the Tune to the Moon Sistarhood and 2018 Moonthly Planner!

If you join the Sistarhood we will send you the Moonthly Tune to the Moon Printable Planners each monthly cycle! You will also have a spot in our private community of healers, mystics, artists, and dreamers!

You can also buy the entire planner separately!

Witches Yule Bauble

Tonight we are honoring both the Full Cold Moon and Mercury Retrograde by capturing and encapsulating our intentions for the season ahead.

These are similar to Witches Bottles, but can be hung on your Yule Tree! Our first idea was to create an herb bundle that could be either buried in a bottle or burned in a fire, but the idea of hanging it on a yule tree seemed extra magickal for the season.

You can choose to do whatever you'd like with your witches bauble/bottle. However you choose to set your intention is up to you. Whatever you choose to do, we would love to see it on instagram! Be sure to tag us so we can see it!

Sometimes putting our goal where we can see it daily can help remind us of our intentions. This Full Moon ceremony is a perfect way to solidify and set your intention while putting it somewhere where you can look at it at each passing.

A Yule tree carries great symbolism and in a way is an altar in of itself, what we hang and put on our tree is very important to our personal beliefs. So amp up your yule time altar by placing a beautiful and herbal-charged ornament onto your yule tree!

We are using herbs that are both in season for the holidays, supportive of the mercury retrograde, can be found at your local grocery store, and have plenty of magical uses!

You may even already have some in your cupboards...

Pine- Strength, rebirth, purification

Our favorite recourses for herbs: A-Z Herb Use, Herbal Riot

Instructions are rather self explanatory... ;) We are placing the herbs of our choice and our intention into a clear holiday ornament. Remember to do everything with intention to invoke the magick of the season. (The Full Moon energy is best felt three days before and three days after the Full Moon, so no need to rush this Ceremony!)

Creating a witches Bauble Bottle Ornament for Christas | spirit de la Lune

Instructions:

1. Begin with an intention for the cycle ahead. You can use last year's "Word of the Year Ritual" for inspiration, or come up with your own solid goal. Write this on either a (small) bay leaf, or a small piece of paper.

2, Place some smaller dried herbs and small crystals into the bottom of the ornament.

3. Put the intention into the ornament.

4. Put your dried herbs and flowers into the ornament.

5. Put ornament cap back on.

Spirit de la Lune | Witches bauble DIY yule ornament

Charge your Witches Bauble under tonight's Full Moon while hanging on your Yule Tree, or put it outside under the Full Moon with your deck and a crystal grid, then hang on your tree for the Winter Season.

As you pass your ornament each day, remember your goal and intention. Send yourself love and energy as you strive to accomplishment your goals each day. Remember it's the small daily steps that lead to miracles ahead.

Happy Full Cold Moon!

2017 Full Crone Moon Cauldron Ceremony

Happy Full Moon!

crone moon.jpg

Are you ready to connect to the Crone? The Crone's cauldron is her tool for alchemy, activation, clearing, and transformation. We will be exploring cauldron magick this Full Moon weekend! The Full Moon is a Supermoon, so Her energy will feel potent all weekend long. A Full Moon in Taurus ignites all the senses and embraces relaxation, pampering, and pleasure. So we are making some witchy recipes in our cauldrons that do just that!

Below are 3 ways to work with the cauldron's in your life this Full Moon. Try them all together for a full night of celebration, or pick and choose what you need right now. Listen to your intuition!

The Cauldron Bath

Circe Indiviosa. John William Waterhouse. 1892

Circe Indiviosa. John William Waterhouse. 1892

Our bathtubs can become big cauldrons to ignite, relax, and clear our cells and energy fields with a little intention and magick.

All you will need is:

  • 2-3 cups of salt: epsom, pink salt, or sea salt
  • 2-3 tablespoons of oil - coconut oil is my favorite
  • 10 drops of essential oil - you can make any mixture you prefer, but I love Ylang Ylang, especially for this Venusian Moon (Taurus is ruled by Venus)
  • Any herbs and dried flowers for more prettiness, but completely optional

Combine all your ingredients in a bowl and mix with a wooden spoon (or your wooden wand!) Draw your bath, set the mood, and light candles, surround your bathtub, or cauldron with crystals and play enchanting music. Make yourself a cup of tea, and make sure you have a soft robe to put on afterward.

When you bath is ready, take your bowl and pour your special recipe in. Stir the cauldron with your dominant hand, or the sale wooden spoon clockwise. As you stir your cauldron you can say something like this aloud:

"I call upon the elements of alchemy, Air, Fire, Water, and Earth, to be present during this healing ceremony. I ask the Crone (or any specific deity you choose) to be present and nourish these waters, that my body may seek refuge, healing, and transformation in this cauldron. And so it is."

Soak in this cauldron as long as you want. And make sure to hydrate yourself throughout and afterwards. If you do not have a bathtub, you can modify this recips to be a foot soak!

Cauldron Clearing

The Magic Circle. John William Waterhouse. 1886

The Magic Circle. John William Waterhouse. 1886

Our cauldrons can be used to alchemize plant allies, using their smoke and energy to clear our spaces and invoke new energy. Sacred smoke shifts energy and can bring us closer to our intentions.

If you don't have a witchy apothecary set up, do not fear! You can use dried herbs from your pantry! Here is what you need:

  • Your cauldron - fire proof container
  • Charcoal disc, or candle
  • Lighter
  • Your dried herbs - recipes are endless!

Fall Recipe:

  • Dried rosemary - 1 tablespoon
  • Dried ginger - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Pumpkin pie spice - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Star Anise (optional)

You can also add dried sage leaves, palo santo chips, for more smoke and aroma!

Combine all those ingredients into a bowl or mortar and pestle. Now, add 2 - 3 whole bay leaves. Bay leaves are known as Witch's note paper - you can write a word you would like to invoke into your energy field and then crumble it up into the rest of the incense.

Light your charcoal disc, or candle and set it in your cauldron. Now add pinches of the incense into the cauldron setting it on the disc or near the flame to make it smoke. You don't want to use it all up at once! Always be mindful and cautious, the cauldron can get hot!

Start be clearing your energy and body, and then go around your house and clear each doorway and window- the thresholds of your home, letting energy in and out. You can say:

"Sacred smoke of the cauldron - shift the energy in the space, only (say your keywords or intentions here) can enter this place."

Say this at each threshold. And thank the elements, herbs, and Crone for their support and magick.

Cauldron Cider

Your very own soup pot or crockpot can be used to make healing brews and potions!

The Danaides. John William Waterhouse. 1888

The Danaides. John William Waterhouse. 1888

What you will need:

  • 1 liter of apple cider
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • Apple slices - I used one apple
  • Cinnamon sticks - how ever many you would like!
  • A dash of cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice - use as much as you would like
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cloves

Combine all the ingredients into your crockpot, and using a cinnamon stick, stir the cider clockwise and say:

"I stir this potion and set my intentions into motion. As the the light fades, and the dark sets in.. May this brew warm my heart and stoke my fires within."

Set it on the low setting and let it simmer for 2 hours. Serve then enjoy! Add a cinnamon stick to your mug to stir and for garnish! You can also let this simmer on the stove for about 30 minutes or so.

We hope you have a beautiful Supermoon weekend and let us know if you try any recipse from above! Be sure to charge your crystals and decks and try the Crone moon reading from the Spirit de la Lune guidebook!
