2018 Solar Eclipse Moon Cycle Energy reading

Happy Solar Eclipse in Leo!

Our last eclipse of 2018 is trailing the Lionsgate activation on 8/8/18. There is so much cosmic energy in the air and swirling around us... if you feel scattered, or your energy feels flighty, drained, or you are just downright frazzled... you are not alone! The collective energy is experiencing big shifts, surprises, and changes are still up ahead!

Read more below about how you can anchor these energies into your daily life, while navigating this new terrain.

New Moon in Leo 8/11/2018

New Moon in Leo Spirit de la Lune

The New Moon in Leo can bring a fiery, playful energy into your life. Leo is the King/Queen of the jungle... so you are most likely feeling a lot of energy in your Crown chakra... with so much energy coming down from the Heavens, your Crown is super activated and probably over-stimulated. Bring this energy back down to Earth.

It is not surprising that we pulled the last moon phase card, Waning Crescent: BE. To navigate these big energies, you need to be anchored in your body and feel grounded and safe to move forward.

Focus all this fiery energy of Leo into your body and practice self-care this New Moon. Go outside and place your barefeet on the ground. Feel the Earth's energy support you and feel her energy move into your body. This is called Earthing. Lay down on the Earth and let her fully support you! You will soak in the negative ions from the soil and you will feel more connected to the core of who you are once again.

A salt bath is also a wonderful way to nourish and ground your body. Use at least 2-3 cups of epsom salt and sea salt in your bath tub to really get all the benefits. And relax and soak for at least 20-30 minutes. Water is so purifying and healing and can cool down the fiery, activated energy of the Crown. If you do not have a tub, just soak your feel using a bowl and 1/2 cup of salts.

You will feel more grounded and settled in your body to integrate the bigger collective energies of the cosmos!

First Quarter in Sagittarius 8/19/18

The First Quarter in Sagittarius adds another layer of the fiery energy from the New Moon, but Sagittarius brings inspired action. If you have kept grounded and have listened to and have nourished your body throughout the eclipse portal, you may feel inspired to do more and have the energy to do so. Mercury moves direct today, so this refreshing energy can leave you feeling more inspired and more impulsive!

However, the card pulled for this week is Waxing Crescent: Awareness. Check-in with your motives. First Quarter's are always good times to check-in with yourself (aka, check yourself before you wreck yourself!) and see where your energy is aligned. If your actions are truly inspired  and aligned with your values... then go for it! Aim your bow high and shoot for the stars!

If your actions are stemming from boredom, restlessness, a need to compete or get even... do not move forward yet! You need to get to the root as to why you are feeling this way. Check in with your body, once again. Get grounded. Focus this energy into healthy activities and you will fall back into alignment once again.

Harvest moon in Pisces 8/26/18

Full Moon | New Moon Energy Reading | Spirit de la Lune

Yes the Harvest Moon is early this year! We follow the moon, not the man-made calendar.

Remember when we had  2 Full moon's in January, and 2 Full Moon's in March? That meant there was no Full Moon for February. This makes the names of the Full Moon's feel early to those who follow only the Gregorian, 12-month calendar. Spirit de la Lune honors the 13 Full Moons of the year.

Full Moon | New Moon Energy Reading | Spirit de la Lune

A Full Moon in Pisces is watery, dreamy, romantic, and sensitive. Again, a lot of the Higher chakras are being activated, and it is particularly important for Pisces energy to be grounded, and to feel safe and protected. You may feel more psychic and tune in easily to everyone's energy and emotions around you. Remember you do not need to hold this energy for anyone. And if you are feeling highly emotional, ask yourself... Are these emotions actually my own?

The card pulled for the Harvest Moon is Waning Crescent: Support. Let go of pride and remember to ask for support when you need it. To feel grounded and supported, you may need to lay low this Full Moon and create a sanctuary for yourself to cocoon into. Create an ambiance that is soothing to you with pillows, candles, aromatherapy, another salt bath is always yummy under a Pisces full moon. Let yourself get swept away in romantic movies, or get yourself a good book to get lost in. Ask your loved ones to give you this time to just relax and with no obligations. You will come back to the world feeling rejuvenated and refreshed.

The day after the Full Moon, 8/27/18, Mars moves direct and any resistance you may have been feeling will melt away and you can move forward with more peace of mind.

Last Quarter in Gemini 9/2/18

Now that you feel renewed from the Full Moon, the Last Quarter in Gemini sweeps in with a refreshing energy and you may get some unexpected news or the changes you have been anticipating are upon you. But you feel more grounded and more empowered to take them on.

Interestingly enough, the card pulled for this week is the Waxing Gibbous: Movement. If you have been making self-care a priority, you have channeled all the extra energy around you and can now move forward with confidence! Make your to-do list and stay on track with your priorities and move with inspired action once again. You will move into the next Moon cycle with your Crown held high, yet grounded in your body.

This is an exciting time, so ebmbrace it wholeheartedly and move forward with your heart courageously open to the new chapter ahead!

Creating A Corn Dolly for Lammas Under This Powerful Eclipse!

Happy Full Moon and Lunar Eclipse!

Lunar Eclipse | Spirit de la Lune Full Moon Ritual

This Full Moon has had a lot of buzz around it for a while now... And we can all certainly feel why. Things have been emotional and intense for a lot of us! There is a major rebirth under way on many levels.

While New Moons are usually all about new beginnings and fresh starts, Full Moons tend to illuminate what was once hidden from us in order to show us the way to our dreams. This ebb and flow helps us achieve the intentions and goals we set when we use it to our advantage...

Full Moon Eclipses, also known as Lunar Eclipses, usually mean that a BIG revelation is on it's way. Eclipses mean shock, big news, and secrets coming to light. Expect the dissolving of any illusions and a new chapter to begin.

This particular eclipse may be even more tumultuous than we are preparing for...

Expect the unexpected!

Lunar Eclipse By Rachael Caringella |   Tree Talker Art

Lunar Eclipse By Rachael Caringella | Tree Talker Art

This lunar eclipse is the longest eclipse of the 21st century. The eclipse is expected to last almost 4 hours- 2-3 hours longer than a typical eclipse!

A total lunar eclipse happens when the Earth comes between the Moon and the Sun, blocking the Sun's light from the Moon's surface causing it to turn a deep blood red.

The sun represents our ego and all we can see easily about ourselves... while the Moon represents our hidden subconscious, or our "shadow" selves. An eclipse causes us to shed our egos. We are vulnerable, as our true nature can no longer be hidden. Our masks must come down, and we are forced to face our deepest selves.

Look for the lessons that are meant to be learned at this time. Be aware of your reactions and reflect instead! Don't forget to back up your computers and hard-drives, because Mercury is going retrograde today!

In our New Moon Energy Report we had mentioned these intense waters and how to best handle them.

For the Full Moon cycle, we pulled the Envision card. "With so many planets retrograde right now, surrender and allow yourself to slow down and reflect. There may not be much that you can physically do at this time, but you can spend a lot of time visualizing how you want the outcome to be. Focus your emotions and visualize the end results if you begin to feel frustrated or doubtful at your progress."

Tonight we are tapping into that visualization energy for tonight's Full Moon Ritual.

This Full Moon is also the Corn Moon

Corn Moon | Spirit de la Lune Full Corn Moon Ritual

The Corn Moon is the first Full Moon of the harvest season.

We have had a few people ask why we are celebrating the Corn Moon in July this year... so before we begin our ritual, we wanted to explain what's up!

Some of the Full Moon's seem a little "early" because Spirit de la Lune follows the traditional Lunar calendar, instead of the Gregorian calendar.

Remember when we had  2 Full moon's in January, and 2 Full Moon's in March? That meant there was no Full Moon for February. This makes the names of the Full Moon's feel early to those who follow only the Gregorian12 month calendar. Spirit de la Lune honors the 13 Full Moons of the year.

Using this intense Lunar Eclipse, and the energy from the Envision card from our New Moon Reading, we thought a Corn Dolly would make the perfect ritual for the Corn Moon!

Corn Moon Spirit de la lune | Full Moon Corn Husk Ritual

Lammas, or Lughnasadh is the Pagan sabbat that marks the beginning of the harvest festival on August 1st.

Corn Dolls have long been used as altar pieces for Lammas since ancient times. They are a recognized figure from many cultures!

In ancient times, the word "corn" stood for the English equivalent of "grain," while the word "doll or dolly" is attributed to the word "idol" stemming from the Greek word eidolon, which means "apparition" or "spirit." This means that Corn Doll translates to "Spirit of the Grain." (Read more history here!)

Our Corn Doll Tutorial have a special extra step that we added in just for this ritual!

Corn Moon Spirit de la lune | Full Moon Corn Husk Ritual

Corn Moon Eclipse Corn Husk Dolly

Corn Doll are traditional pagan magickal charms/figures thought to protect the home or personal wellness of the maker and their household. We are putting a special twist in our dolls by adding some herbs, intentions and crystals into the heart of the doll.

Corn Moon Spirit de la lune | Full Moon Corn Husk Doll Ritual

You will need:

I found my corn husks at the grocery store. They are typically used to make tamales, so you'll have extra husks to try out a new recipe. Or you can get some corn on the cob for your Lammas dinner and use the left over husks from that!

Spirit de la Lune Full Corn Moon Eclipse | Corn Husk Doll Ritual

1. Soak your corn husks in water for about 30-40 minutes until they are malleable.

Strain and allow the husks to dry out just a bit. You'll want to work with the husks while they are still pretty wet or they will begin to crack.

2.Take one husk and cut it so that you have a rectangle/square of about 5-6 inches.

3. Add your herbs, crystals and intentions to the middle of this square. You can use two husks here for extra support if you need to.

4. Roll up the husk tightly.

5. Secure the ends with a string on each end. This is the "heart" and arms of our dolly!

6. For the head and body, tie two larger husks together. (Shown above.)

Spirit de la Lune Full Corn Moon Eclipse Corn Husk Doll Ritual

7. Separate those two husks and then pull them over your first knot and tie another knot. This creates the head of your doll. (You can put some paper or spare corn husk parts in there before you tie it off to make the head of your doll more round and full.)

8. Part the husks again, and slide the arms up between them, as close to the head as possible. Tie off again with a strong knot, creating the waist. Your herb and crystal bundle should be right in the heart of your doll.

9. Trim the arms to the length you want them and cut any loose ties.

You could be done with your Corn Dolly at this point, but there should be sone left over husks for additional decoration if you want.

Spirit de la Lune Full Corn Moon Eclipse Corn Husk Doll Ritual

10. Cut and fold the last corn husk over the dolls shoulders  and an additional layer of skirting and secure the waist with a knot creating a shawl and a fuller skirt.

Trim the skirt in the way you want it and you are done!

You now have a traditional pagan Corn Dolly in time for your Lammas altar that was created under a very powerful Eclipse and infused with your intention.

Leave your doll out under the Full Moon and let it charge with the Lunar Eclipse and Corn Moon energy. Don't forget to thank your doll each time you see it!

New Moon in Cancer Energy Reading | Corn Moon Cycle

Happy New Moon!

This New super Moon in cancer kicks off the transformative Eclipse Season.

The New Moon takes place in the watery sign of Cancer on the 12th of July. Expect waves of change to ripple throughout your life. Eclipses are always a harbinger of change and transformation. They have a way of  highlighting what is no longer working or needed in our lives in an intense fashion. We are often faced with uncomfortable truths, and the harsh reality of change.

An eclipse has a way of putting us right where we need to be and doesn't seem to care if we get a little "bruised" along the way. If you have been intentionally neglecting an aspect of your life, expect it to come to the surface during this cycle. It's time to make room for new habits and a new way of life.

This eclipse will likely bring up a lot from the past situation you faced back in January and February. (Our last Eclipse season.) So expect the past to come back up to be observed, felt, held and healed. You may be getting a new look at the past and have the opportunity for some understanding and closure.

As if entering eclipse season wasn't intense enough, we also have 5 planets will be retrograde this month. Jupiter, Saturn, Pluto, Mars, Neptune, Uranus, and Mercury are all retrograde during July.

When a planet goes retrograde, we get a unique opportunity to slow down and reflect on different areas of our lives that each planet represents. Retrograde energy is about pushing pause and turning inward. We will talk more about each planet's retrograde as we go deeper into our reading.

Four Major Moon Cycles Spirit de la Lune | New Moon energy report

Each New Moon cycle we look ahead at the astrological influences of the coming cycle. We pull a card for each main turning of the moon as she goes through her 28 day cycle to create our New Moon Energy Reading.

So, grab a cup of tea and read on to see what this New Moon Eclipse has in store for you!

New Moon in Cancer

New Moon in Cancer Energy Reading | Spirit de la Lune

The New Moon takes place on the 12th of July, but some will experience it on Friday the 13th. Lunar energy is felt 3 days surrounding the event, so feel free to tap into the lunar energy whenever you feel it most. New Moon's typically represent new beginnings, but this particular New Moon holds even more powerful potential for major transformation and sudden change in our lives.

This is also a Super Moon, meaning that it is closer to the Earth, intensifying the lunar energy even more. Jupiter went direct on the 10th of July, just before the New Moon helping ease up some of the sluggish energy the retrograde may have caused. Expect some momentum to pick back up in your life in an area you may have forgotten about.

The New Moon is home in the sign of Cancer, which typically has us wanting to stay in and relax with a peaceful night in our own home. This time you might be faced with really looking at where you are, and deciding if you are actually that comfortable where you currently are There seems to be a sense of upheaval when it comes to stability for many people right now. Our sense of "home" is being re-looked, and new perspective is coming to light.

Lunar Eclipse Spirit de la Lune

Eclipses shake things up and deliver hard truths to get you where you need to be. We have been and will continue to feel this on a global scale and within ourselves as stability continues to shift for our planet.

Balance is being restored on many levels. Check in with yourself to see what balance needs restoring in your own life.

Walk through the threshold of this Eclipse. Don't allow your fear of the unknown to hold you back any longer.

There is a strong rebirth energy available to us, prepare yourself for the rebirth. Journal your feelings, fill your body with nourishing foods, take time in contemplation and meditation. Look deep within to uncover what areas of your life need to experience rebirth. What have you outgrown? You are being asked to step into yourself more and become more you.

Tend to yourself and your needs at this time, and stay in your body! It is tempting to run away or sleep things off when emotions get intense, but right now it is important to feel what you are feeling. Sometimes negative emotions act as reminders to keep a cycle from repeating in our lives. Allow yourself to feel the emotions you do so that you can heal them properly.

The card pulled for this phase is Waning Crescent- Support. Trust in the process of change and transformation and know that you are supported. Don't neglect your physical needs, support your physical body as the vehicle it is. If you are in a vulnerable space, call out to your people and find your tribe. Reach out to those who have told you that they would be there for you. Trust that they will. It may not be in your nature to ask for help, but now is the time to receive from those around you.

First Quarter Moon in Libra

Last Quarter Moon | Spirit de la Lune New Moon Energ Report

The moon will be in Libra as she turns First Quarter on the 19th of July. As the Moon gets brighter in the sky, your own energy expands and grows with it. The Moon in Libra causes emotions to come up to the surface to be analyzed. You may feel it hard to make decisions, or be feeling self doubt right now. Partnership and relationships could be brought into focus as the New Moon and Eclipse energy is still rippling throughout your life.

Neptune has been retrograde in the sign of Pisces since June18th and won't go direct until November 25th. This is helping us expand and understand our sense of self and spirituality. New ideas might come to you, you may even feel a sense of confusion around past beliefs as new thoughts and ideas begin to expand your awareness.

Allow yourself to be a witness to these thoughts and emotions instead of just pushing them away. Sit with your emotions and feel them fully. Observe your ideas without judgement to allow your mind to expand and open.

The card pulled for this cycle is Lunar Eclipse- Sovereignty. This card is very fitting to see as we are moving towards the Lunar Eclipse the following week! This is an indicator that there is major change on the way for you. A new path is in your future, but you might be faced with facing the unknown before you even see the steps in front of you. Have courage and trust in your higher self and the path you have put before you.

Full Corn Moon in Aquarius

Corn Moon | Spirit de la Lune

The Full Corn Moon takes place on the 27th of July in the sign of Aquarius. Some people may feel this energy in Capricorn depending on your time zone. Answers to the questions you've been asking are ready to flow to you.

Mercury goes retrograde on the 26th of July, just before the Full Moon. This gives us the chance to really look within ourselves for the answers we are seeking this week.

This Full Moon is also a Lunar Eclipse! This is again tied in with what was happening back in February. Expect new clarity and knowledge to come to you about that time.

This Lunar Eclipse is helping us tie up loose ends and gain closure on some of the lessons and trials we have faced in the past. Secrets could be be revealed, truth may come to light, it's time to deal with what is coming to the surface right now.

Lunar Eclipse Spirit de la Lune New Moon Reading 2018

Eclipse energy is very intense, allow it to guide you. Pay attention to your surroundings and environment.

Listen to your intuition during this powerful Full Moon. Emotions are heightened, and once again you may feel your stability and sense of "home" is shaken.

The card pulled for this phase is Waning Crescent - Envision. You may not feel like you can put much energy or effort into things that seemed easy a little while ago.

With so many planets retrograde right now, surrender and allow yourself to slow down and reflect. There may not be much that you can physically do at this time, but you can spend a lot of time visualizing how you want the outcome to be. Focus your emotions and visualize the end results if you begin to feel frustrated or doubtful at your progress.

Don't forget to check back for the Corn Moon Ceremony!

Last Quarter Moon in Taurus

New Moon Energy Reading | Spirit de la lune

The moon turns to Last Quarter in the sign of Taurus on the 4th of August. The Waning Moon calls us inward once again, and the moon in Taurus asks us to have patience with ourselves and others. This is a time for understanding and exercising compassion, especially for yourself. Refill your own cup first before refilling others. Take a break if you need to! Visit a park, a body of water, or even spend time tending to your garden or house plants.

The card pulled for this cycle is Waning Crescent- Boundaries. Saturn has been retrograde in the sign of Capricorn since April, and will be retrograde until September 6th. This has brought our focus to personal responsibilities and goals, but has also helped us set boundaries where we have needed to. You might be feeling the influence of Saturn pushing you to draw clearer boundaries.

Uranus goes retrograde on August 7th until Jan 6th, through the signs of Taurus and Aries. This retrograde really will dig up the past, but will bring a full circle from the lessons we learned from in the past. This is setting the stage for the next New Moon and preparing you for the new cycle ahead. This is a good week to contemplate and prepare ideas for what you New Moon intention will be.

Spirit de la Lune New Moon in Cancer Energy Reading

The Eclipse season is just beginning, and the intensity may rise as the planets go retrograde this cycle. Practicing self care is extremely important this month. Use this time to rejuvenate yourself. You might feel a lull in your own energy as thing slow down with the retrograde. Don't push yourself.

Look at this new cycle as an opportunity to practice extreme self care. Look out for yourself, have patience and look for ways to nurture yourself.

Change is inevitable, and this new cycle forces us to face the unknown. Surrender to the change and face your fears.

Accepting that this month will cause you to go within and use the retrogrades to get to know yourself deeper so you can step more fully onto your path and into your purpose.

Happy New Moon!

2018 Blessing Moon Chakra Alignment Ritual

Happy Full Blessing Moon!

Let's Align with Our Bliss!

chakra stones.jpeg

In order to truly follow our bliss, we must align to our centers once again. Our energy centers, or Chakras, run along our spine and are located along the center of our body. When we align back to our center we can truly connect to our purpose, find clarity, and our bliss will be easy to follow!

So let's do a simple Chakra alignment meditation under the Full Blessing Moon! Gather 7-8 stones, one for each Chakra, your Blessing Moon card from the deck, and a glass jar of spring water. That's it!

The stones shown here from bottom to top: Red Jasper, Carnelian, Citrine, Green Jade, Turquoise, Blue Apatite, Amethyst, and  Clear Quartz.

Let's get started!

Find a quiet place where you will not be disturbed (under the moonlight is best!), and create a space to lay down or sit comfortable. Take your stones and if you are laying down place them along  the center of your body: your red stone by your pubic bone or groin area; orange stone about 2 inches below your belly button; your yellow stone on your belly button; the green (or pink) stone resting on your heart; the blue stone on your throat; the purple stone between your eyes (your third-eye); clear stone at the top of your forehead, or on the ground next to the top of your head.

If you decide to sit down surround yourself with your stones in the same order, or hold them within your palms. And now relax and enjoy the energy of the Full Moon and your crystals. Notice the energy of each stone interacting with your energy... notice any emotions or thoughts that surface and allow them to rise. Are there any messages coming through? Visualize the beautiful Full Moon ray's coming down through your Crown chakra and move down through your Root chakra... cleansing and recharging each of your energy centers.

Stay in this beautiful meditation until you feel revitalized and realigned with your mind, body, and spirit. Feel  free to journal about your experience afterward.

With the same stones you used during your meditation, now it is time to make Chakra Blessing Moon Water!

Depending on the the type of crystals you use, you can either place the crystals in the glass jar with spring water or surround the jar with the stones. Always research which stones are safe to use in water prior to use... or when in doubt, leave it out!

Place the Blessing Moon card underneath the jar and let your Chakra water charge under the Full Blessing Moon in Capricorn! Let is charge all night under the moonlight! You can make a big pitcher or small bottle, whatever you prefer!

In the morning bring your water inside and take the gemstones out. Feel free to drink the whole glass to really help integrate the alignment, or make smaller bottles of this water, or even just water your plants with it. I would at least drink a couple of sips to get the benefits for your chakras!

We hope this simple realignment ritual recharges you and brings you back to center. Feel free to do this whenever  you need a pick-me-up.

Chakra Blessings!

Grab a cup of tea and keep reading what the Blessing Moon has in store for us!

The Blessing Moon Reading

  1. Moon rise: What is rising in my life?
  2. Flow: How is the energy moving?
  3. Full Moon: What is being completed?
  4. Ebb: What is slowing down?
  5. Moon set: What am I making room for?
blessing moon reading 2018.jpeg

The cards are predicting a fun, a little wild, and flowing moon cycle ahead!  The New Moon in Gemini can bring unexpected surprises and changes, but it is important to surrender and go with the flow. After the Full Moon will be a wonderful time to purge and cleanse yourself and your surroundings so you can get back into your creative groove.

1. Moon rise: What is rising in your life?

wild card.jpeg

The New Moon in Gemini takes place Wednesday, 6/13/18 and is a Super Moon! The first card pulled for the reading! We won't be able to see  this moon, since she is aligned with the sun, but we will definitely feel the energy! Expect some surprising news. It is just like the Twins to do this! How you react to this news or change of course is key. When the Super Moon card is pulled it reminds us that life is unpredictable and that's what makes life a journey! All the elements are activated on a Super Moon, so tend to your elemental realms: Air (mental realm); Fire (spirit realm); Water (emotional realm); Earth (physical realm). Which realm is feeling more off, or more reactive today? Tend to your needs and pay attention to your loved ones too. They may need some support and help realigning and tuning in too.

2. Flow: How is the energy moving?

The news or developments that have arisen during the New Moon could still be integrating in your system and you may be feeling overwhelmed at this point. If something is out of your control, then surrendering to what is is your best option. The flow of energy will really depend on if you resist this change or not. You always have a choice. Emotions are high and allow them to flow out to fully surrender. When you are able to surrender you are able to flow with the currents of the present moment. And sometimes that is truly the best medicine.

“Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a gift... that's why they call it present”
surrender.jpeg

3: Full Moon: What is being completed?

devotion.jpeg

Where have  you been putting your devotion? In a special project? A relationship? Maybe not so healthy habits? Whatever it may be, there will be a turning point soon. Maybe you have reached a deeper level in your relationship; or maybe with all this time and energy you have put into your creation, you can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. With the Full Moon in Capricorn on 6/28/18, utilize this ambitious Capricorn energy and sprint for the finish line. If you are not so happy with your progress, or your devotion has been lacking... make a vow on this Full Moon to yourself with how you will better use your time, energy, and willpower. A to-do list is Capricorn's best friend. You can charge it under the Full Moon to activate your willpower! Remember to do this for you and no else!

4: Ebb: What is slowing down?

purify.jpeg

After the Full Moon, the momentum of the moon cycle begins to slow down and wane. The Sage Moon card is reminding us that this is the perfect time to reflect, cleanse and purge. Because we began with the all the elements activated during the New Super Moon, let's focus on all the elemental realms again. Get out your journal and pen:

Air (mental realm): What patterns or beliefs are holding you back? How can you release them and create new affirmations or mantras to take their place?
Fire (spirit realm): Are you feeling connected to your purpose? If yes, how can you keep nourishing this connection? In no, what needs to change so you can reconnect?
Water (emotional realm): What emotions are weighing you down? Can you pinpoint the source of themes emotions and find forgiveness and compassion?
Earth (physical realm): How is your body feeling? Would a cleanse or detox benefit you right now? What needs to be cleansed in your surroundings?

Your answers and reflections may surprise you! Try to focus on the most pressing realm first and you will begin to feel more lighter and inspired!

5. What are you making room for?

create.jpeg

If you took the time to cleanse and reflect from the last card, you should be feeling more inspired by the next moon cycle approaching! Who doesn't want more room in their life for creativity, expression, and inspiration?! So follow your heart's whims and your imagination will guide you into the next moon cycle with more good vibes to create and manifest your desires. Get clear with hat you want and what you need to work on for yourself, put in the work, and your path will reveal itself! Maybe not in the way you would expect, but in a way that will compliment your energy and journey!

We hope you have enjoyed this reading and found it refreshing and inspiring! Happy New Moon everyone!

Full Honey Moon Beeswax Candle Making Ritual

Happy Full Honey Moon!

We know this is a bit early for our usual full moon post, but we wanted to be sure you had time to gather any supplies you may need for this Full Moon Ritual.

This Full Honey Moon takes place in the sunny and optimistic sign of Sagittarius. The Archer archetype helps us reach for our goals and lights the way towards expanded awareness.

The Honey Moon is an active, productive cycle and the last Full Moon of Spring here in the Norther Hemisphere. Bees are buzzing and life is churning all around. This is a time for abundance, production, and collaboration.

The Honey Moon asks us to stop and take notice if we are working too hard, or not enough! Do you need to collaborate with others in order to get what you need done? Or perhaps it's time to slow down and enjoy the sweetness life has to offer. Allow the bees to show you the path to fulfillment. Follow that magnetic pull towards your passions the same way the bees feel drawn to the flowers.

Full Honey Moon Bee | Spirit de la Lune

Now is the time to pollinate and plant the seeds and needs of your soul. For tonight's Full Moon Ceremony we are not only doing some candle magic, we are making candles!

We are working with all four of the elements, patience and time, and Honey Bee medicine as we create this sacred tool.

It's a good idea to set an intention as you go about creating this candle! You can revisit your intention from the last New Moon, or create this candle for a specific intention.

Remember to give thanks to the Honey Bee and all of the life giving gifts they offer us. Aside from their sweet, healthy honey and purifying wax, Honey Bees account for 1/3 of the food here on earth! Bees are currently under threat and need us to take precautions in order to save them. For tonight's ceremony, please try to find beeswax from a local or organic source if possible and always try to find local organic sources! Here are more ways we can help.

Full Moon Beeswax Candle Making Ritual

Spirit de la Lune Beeswax Candle Making Honey Moon Ritual

Beeswax candles are a wonderful substitute for the artificially scented candles that are currently on the market.

Their natural aroma is something you just can't beat or fake. The wax's color is naturally light yellow and turns to a deep honey yellow as it melts.

It's more than just the soothing scent and glow of a flickering beeswax candle that comforts us. These candles emit negative ions that  help boost our mood, increase levels of serotonin and gives us relief from stress.

Burning your candle right before bed can help improve your quality of sleep!

Negative ions also purify the air of mold spores, odors, dust and other particles in the air. They combat the Positive Ions that come from electrical appliances that are often trapped in our house. Read more about the benefits of Beeswax candles and Negative Ions.

Before you begin, take some time to quiet your mind and create sacred space. Open a circle if you wish, or prepare with a clean blessed workspace. Remember we are connecting with the 4 elements deeply for this Full Moon. Listen to your intuition and set a strong intention for your magickal candle before you begin.

What you will need:

(We found a lot of our supplies at thrift shops, Hobby Lobby and Michaels. These craft stores both have a weekly 40% off coupon that can help make things a lot cheaper!)

  • 12 oz beeswax pellets (Or any wax of your choice, just follow their directions)
  • 1/3 cup coconut oil
  • Thick-medium wick
  • 12-16 oz glass jar or containers *
  • Clothespin to prop up the wick
  • Double-sided tape or hot glue to keep the wick in place
  • Double boiler (I used a thrifted pot & thrifted glass measuring pitcher for my double boiler.)
  • Wooden skewer for stirring
  • Ribbon and other decorations. (charms, crystals
*Because we are adding coconut oil to the beeswax, we will have more wax than can fit in a 12 oz jar. You can choose to use a bigger jar, or make a second smaller candle, or follow the bonus tutorial below where I explain how to turn the left over wax into a Honey Moon Healing Balm! *You will need cocoa butter or shea butter and some small containers to put it in.
Honey Moon Beeswax Candle Making | Spirit de la Lune

Step One

Melt the beeswax. Using a double boiler system melt your wax. A double boiler warms the contents of the glass container slowly. You will want to put enough water in your pot so that it covers most of the area where the wax is, and so when it starts to bubble and boil, it will not get into the wax. You don't want to mix the two.

Turn the burner on low and stir it often.

Melting the wax can take several minutes and the stages it goes through are reminiscent of some very delicious foods, so you could probably grab a quick snack as things melt.

After you finish watching your wax turn from melting dippin' dots to mashed potatoes and gravy, and then finally gravy with no lumps what so ever the wax is finally ready.

Step 1.5

While the wax is melting and in between stirring sessions, secure the wick to the bottom of your jar.

You can use hot glue, e6000, or double-sided tape. I happened to have some double sided wall mounts that did the trick.

Using a skewer or a wooden tooth pick push down around the edges to make sure it's good and stuck.

Beeswax is hard to clean up, so it’s a good idea to put some newspaper or paper bags down around your workspace at this time.

Step Two

Remove your wax from the heat and add in your coconut oil. Stir and mix thoroughly so everything is the same temperature.

Beeswax burns very hot, so adding coconut oil will bring down the melting point of the candle, making for a longer smoother burn. This process will keep your candle from “tunneling” and burning down only around the wick. So be sure to not skip this step!

(Beeswax candles and essential oils don’t go well because of that heat ratio... so it’s best to not add any scent to the candle. Beeswax already has a wonderful scent, so there is no need to mess around with it. You can save your essential oils for the bonus tutorial!)

Step Three

Once everything is mixed together, take your inner pitcher out of the water and wipe the bottom with a towel so you don’t splash boiling water on yourself or your work surface.

Pour in about 1 inch of wax into the jar and put the pitcher back into the hot water and keep on a low heat to keep from hardening.

Using a clothespin, or something else big enough for your jar or container, prop the wick up so it stands straight. Allow the candle and the 1 inch wax to set for about 20 minutes.

I kept turning my burner on and off during this time while stirring the left over wax pretty often to keep the wax from setting.

Step Four

Honey Moon Beeswax Candle Making | Spirit de la Lune

Once the bottom layer is set, slowly pour the remaining wax into your jar until you get to the height you want.

Let it set for a bit and add more wax if a pit begins to form around the wick.

Using the clothespin, prop or hold the wick in place while you allow the candle to rest and sit somewhere warm.

Beeswax can crack if it cools and hardens too quickly,

Honey Moon Beeswax Candle Making | Spirit de la Lune

Place the candle someplace warm to let it set. You can place the candle in your oven while it cools after baking something or put it in a sunny place while it sets. My house doesn’t have AC and it was already about 88 degrees inside, so I just sat it on my stove while I made dinner and used the oven. I didn't have any problems with it cracking or curing.

It’s best to let the candle rest over night before trimming the wick or burning the candle.

*Bonus Tutorial*

If you have extra wax and chose to not make a second smaller candle, you can add a bit more coconut oil and some shea butter or cocoa butter to your wax to create a healing salve!
Just return the beeswax to the double boiler pot and add equal parts shea or cocoa butter and coconut oil to your mixture. The final mixture will be 1/3 beeswax (left over wax), 1/3 Shea or cocoa butter and 1/3 coconut oil.
You may need to "shave" or cut your shea/cocoa butter in order for it to melt properly. Add everything to the wax and stir it all together until everything is the same consistency and temperature again. Remove from heat and add in a few drops of essential oils if you want.
Pour into smaller containers and allow to cool before using as a lip balm, lotion or general healing balm infused with Full Honey Moon energy!

Step Five

When you candle is finally set and cool, trim the wax to about a half inch above the wax line. It's time to decorate!

Using ribbon, beads, charms or crystals, decorate your new candle!

Pick a charm that matches the intention you’ve chosen on the New Moon, or pick something new just for this candle.

Step Six

Spirit de la Lune Beeswax Candle Making Honey Moon Ritual

On the night of the Full Moon, burn the candle on your altar as you charge your cards and crystals.

Beeswax candles burn for a long time, so you can relight the candle often!

Use this candle to burn intentions, light your sage or incense. Re-light it on the New Moon, or whenever you may need a boost!

Remember, to never burn your candle unsupervised.

When the candle is done burning, you can either reuse the candle jar to make a new one, or wear the charm as a necklace or keep it on your altar as a reminder!

We would love to see your candles! If you follow along and make a candle with us, please share your photos with us here or by tagging #Spiritdelalune on instagram!

Beginning the Honey Moon Cycle | New Moon in Taurus Energy Report

Happy New Moon in Taurus!

New Moon in Taurus | Spirit de la Lune Energy Report May 2018
New Moon in Taurus | Spirit de la Lune Energy Report

We are reaching the peak of Spring here in the Northern Hemisphere. The New Moon joins the Sun in the warm and ambitious sign of Taurus on May 15th. This is opening a gateway for transformation to take place on many levels.

The New Moon is also holding space for the transition of Uranus into Taurus. This takes place only minutes after the New Moon is at her darkest point. Uranus has not been in Taurus in over 75 years. In fact, it hasn't shifted signs since 2011, so prepare to feel a 7 year cycle ending, and a new one beginning..

The human race is waking up. On an individual level and as a collective consciousness. We are all on our way to a global awakening and a massive spiritual shift. This New Moon is helping open doors for us all to take the steps needed to make that happen. Each step you take towards your own personal healing and awakening helps the entire planet reach that global shift.

What kind of things are you willing to let go of in order to grow something new? Are you ready for these inner and outer shifts to take place? What is your current vision for your future and the future of humanity?

Grab a cup of coffee & read on to see what's in store for you this New Moon Cycle!

New Moon in Taurus on May 15th

New Moon in Taurus Spirit de la Lune Energy Reading

This New Moon takes place in the sign of Taurus, a house of prosperity, strength and endurance. It is the transition of Uranus (the planet of change and chaos) into Taurus that will be stealing the show and taking main stage this week.

New Moon's tend to cause us to draw inward and feel vulnerable, so this could make for a delicate time! Especially with Mars moving from Capricorn to Aquarius on this day. Be prepared for some sudden revelations or surprises with these aspects.

Taurus is a logical and stubborn sign that does not like change. But the astrological influences right now are demanding that change! Practice the practical traits of Taurus to get through this tricky dynamic. There is a reason we have so much going on in the grounded and earthy sign of Taurus. Common sense needs to be a ruling factor right now.

The card pulled for this cycle is the Libra: The Peacemaker. A reminder to stay balanced, grounded and weigh your options before acting. This week may hold surprises and sudden change so it's important to stay level headed. Stay in control of your emotions, don't let them control you! Fluorite, rose quartz, or amethyst could make for great crystal companions this week!

Don't forget to set a solid intention towards what you want to see grow this cycle!

First Quarter Moon in Leo, May 21st

First Quarter Moon in Leo | Spirit de la Lune New Moon Energy Report May 2018

The First Quarter Moon takes place in Leo on the 21st of May. Our own inner fire and energy grows with the Waxing Moon as she enters the fiery and ambitions sign of Leo, The Hero. As our personal focus grows, energy from within is channeled towards the goals and intentions that were placed during the New Moon. Be sure to write clear intentions and take the needed actions.

Now is the time to focus your energy and follow your ambitions. A lot can get done this week and it is your time to shine! This makes for a great time to perform on stage, socialize or work with others. This cycle can be a powerful one towards the pursuit of your goals. Take the needed steps, you will be proud of yourself later!

The card pulled for this phase is Waxing Gibbous: Focus, a fitting card for this energetic time. This can be a powerful and productive week for you leading to the Full Honey Moon coming in a few days. Use a to-do list or planner and focus your attention towards your goals. Using citrine, carnelian or aragonite can help increase your focus this week!

Full Honey Moon in Sagittarius, May 29th

Full Moon in Sagittarius | Spirit de la Lune New Moon Energy Report May 2018

The Full Honey Moon takes place in the sign of Sagittarius on the 29th of May. A time of productivity, warmth and enjoying the sweeter things of life. This is the last Full Moon of the Spring season for us in the Northern Hemisphere

This Full Moon holds both a manifestation and reflection of your New Moon intentions. It is time to pause and celebrate, while looking to see new ways to expand your reach.

Sagittarius helps us push ourselves to expand our vision while perfecting our aim.

Full Honey Moon in Sagittarius | Spirit de la Lune New Moon Energy Report May 2018

This Full Moon is sextile Mars. This increases that ambitious yet celebratory dynamic we are feeling around this time. There is a drive towards both work and play right now.

The card pulled for this phase is the Super Moon: Wild Card. Showcasing that sense of the endless possibilities that lie before you. Anything can happen right now!

You have the ability to create the life you want with your powerful focus and aim.

This Full Moon is all about taking control, recognizing your target, aiming your focus and then "releasing" to proceed. Some crystal companions this week would be honey calcite, selenite or dragon stone.

Last Quarter Moon in Pisces, June 6th

Last Quarter Moon | Spirit de la Lune New Moon Energy Report May 2018

The Last Quarter takes place in the sign of Pisces on the 6th of June. The Waning Moon causes us to slow down and draw inward once again. It's a time to tie up loose ends and finish up what we can towards our goals.

The Last Quarter Moon in Pisces may cause you to feel more sensitive and emotional than usual. Your intuition increases as Pisces brings out your natural empathic abilities. You may feel more receptive towards the feelings and emotions of others.

The card pulled for this week is the Strength card. Practice strengthening your own psychic abilities and empathic senses.

The lunar energy this week can help strengthen your innate abilities. They will come in handy in the future! Practice building energetic walls to block and protect you from negative energy. Creating energy orbs and meditating with crystals can help strengthen your hand chakras. Desert rose selenite, blue obsidian and clear quartz would be great crystals to work with this week.

Happy New Moon!

2018 Flower Moon Ceremony: Create Your Own Flower Moondala

Lunar Beltane blessings and Happy Flower Moon!

flower mandala 2.jpg
IMG_8974.jpg

The Full Moon in Scorpio ignites the beautiful energy of the pagan holiday Beltane, typically celebrated on May 1st... also known as May Day! The season is in full bloom and it is a time to ignite your passions, your love for life, and celebrate! The merging and union of the Sacred Masculine and Feminine can be seen within and without and can bring in healing, new love, and creative energy is high!

The Full Moon in Scorpio also happens to land on April 29th or April 30th depending on time zone!

For this Full Moon ceremony we are showing you two ways to celebrate the beauty in your life! You can create a Flower Moondala out in nature or a Flower Moondala in the comfort of your home!

Flower Moondala Ceremony

Gather flowers from your garden, or buy a beautiful bouquet or two, to bring with you out to nature. It could be your favorite piece of land, a park you have been wanting to explore, or a hike you have been looking forward to. Feel free to bring a picnic and your friends or lover!

When you find the place to create your Moondala, ground yourself into the land. Take off your shoes and feel the energy of the Earth move up through your feet and ignite each chakra.

From this grounded place begin to create your Moondala. Focus on the center and work your way outward. Allow your intuition and creativity to flow and take your time with this process. Work with the flowers you brought and the nature around you.

If you are close to the ocean, feel free to create a mandala with the shells and seaweed washed upon the shore. Or if you are experiencing the Autumn season gather the fallen leaves, branches, and other bits of nature that is shedding on to the ground. Commune with the land you live on and honor her with her unique beauty!

These images were found on Pinterest... if you know the source let us know!

Elemental Blessing

After you create your beautiful Flower Moondala you can make an optional offering for the Elements. What you will need is:

  • Air: Sage or incense or just your breath
  • Fire: Your favorite perfume/anointing oil
  • Water: Moon water or wine in your chalice
  • Earth: A little bowl of sea salt or pink himilayan salt

While honoring each element, offer prayers to the land and intentions for the rest of your season.

Honor the Air element but saying yourself and your group and the Moondala in a clockwise motion. You can also gently blow your breath or prana/life force energy over the Moondala.

Honor Fire with the anointing oil and anoint each chakra on your body. Add a few drops to the center of the Moondala.

Honor Water by drinking wine or moonwater from your chalice. Pour some libations on to the land and around the outside of the Moondala.

Honor Earth by taking the bowl of salt and taking a few morsels on your tongue taking the Earth into your body. Sprinkle the rest of the salt around the Moondala creating a ring.

Now enjoy the rest of your time here! Have a picnic, dance and sing, make love, play music... Celebrate your life!

Flower Moon.jpg

If you cannot go out into nature, bring nature to you. You could create a Flower Moondala on your altar or outside on your patio or backyard. Follow the steps above!
