Happy New Moon & Solar Eclipse!
Eclipse season is upon us once again!
While this one might feel intense… it has the power & potential to transform us thoroughly.
A Solar Eclipse always happens when the moon is New but this total Solar Eclipse in Cancer holds potential for an emotionally intense yet refreshing rebirth. During a total Solar Eclipse, the Moon has darkened the Sun completely, meaning you will likely feel your emotions stronger than on a typical New Moon.
Your emotional and intuitive energy will be stronger than any physical action you can take right now. This is to allow us to sit back and fully witness and feel the emotions we may have been avoiding so that we can step forward into our rebirth.
A New Moon’s influence typically lasts for four weeks, but the energetic lessons from an Eclipse last for about 6 months, which is why it is called an Eclipse Season. Expect patterns, lessons, and themes from the last 6 months might come up for you this cycle. It’s time to finally feel them in order to heal them.
This Eclipse holds huge potential for rebirth and transformation on many levels. Mercury goes retrograde this month as well which will help us look at the way we are communicating our needs in a new way so we can be more constructive.
There are endless possibilities and opportunities ahead right now. Now is the time to walk through the threshold of the Eclipse.
All new moons hold potential for a new beginning, but this cycle in particular holds 2 eclipses and 5 planets in retrograde meaning the effects will be lasting and important.
Don’t let this potential go to waste! Each month for the New Moon, using our planners, decks and the stars as our guide, we put together the New Moon Energy Report to help us navigate the cycle ahead…
Grab a cup of iced coffee, and scroll down to see what this New Moon cycle and Eclipse Season has in store for you!
New Moon in Cancer
A New Moon in Cancer can cause us to feel extra vulnerable and sensitive. Mood swings or other intense emotional shifts are prone to happen under this New Moon especially with the Solar Eclipse happening.
Try to understand what these shifts are trying to tell you.
A New Moon in Cancer might have you wanting to stay home curled under a blanket. You might find your focus on your family, the household or other domestic activities this week.
It’s important to find a way to distance yourself while still staying involved.
You might feel some of that introverted energy shift away quickly, as this Eclipse does hold some positive and optimistic qualities as well!
After the New Moon you might feel more like connecting with friends or being social. Sextile Uranus this week promises positive interactions, new friends and pleasant encounters.
This week is an excellent time to spend with friends and family and those closest to you, but expect new and exciting connections to follow. You are likely to meet a lot of new interesting people this week if you choose to get out there. Trust your intuition and go with the flow! You might instead feel called towards staying home and focusing on only those closest to you.
This Solar Eclipse might start off intense for many of us, but the potential rebirth that follows can make it all worth it. This Solar Eclipse is like a breeze of fresh air. It’s here to shake things up and make you see what is stagnant and blocked. This Eclipse acts as a doorway to change and transformation.
The card pulled for this week is Blood Moon: Rebirth. A very fitting message for this week’s Solar Eclipse. Solar Eclipses act as thresholds towards change… They shake us and awaken us so that we can see what changes we need to make. A Solar Eclipse is like a doorway or threshold because we must choose to enter it. We can fully step into the rebirth that is before us, or we can ignore the emotions that keep coming up. Rebirth coming up for this week’s card pull reminds us to step forward and cross the threshold towards our rebirth. Tonight is a powerful night for making intentions. If you are having a hard time knowing where to start, ask yourself “Who do I want to be?” The
how” might not come to you this week, but you can still get the process of transformation started this week by simply stating or making an intention.
First Quarter in Libra
The First Quarter Moon takes place in the sign of Libra on the 9th of July, just days after Mercury goes Retrograde in Leo.
Libra energy has us wanting to remain in that social mood from the week before. We desire mutual understanding and love to share knowledge with like minded friends at this time. The Waxing Moon in Libra can put both our business and romantic relationships and partnerships into focus.
Be sure there is proper energy flow in your partnerships this week. Balance is a major theme of Libra, so maintaining equal and balanced energy flow in your relationships will ensure you don’t get walked on in the future. Balance is key!
Mercury goes retrograde on the 7th of July in the sign of Leo.
This retrograde might test us… It’s important to remain mindful and patience with yourself and others during a Mercury retrograde. Impulse control and reckless behavior might come up this month. It’s important to slow yourself down.
We have 5 total planets retrograde right now... this is the Universe’s way of telling us to slow down and try to catch our breath.
The card pulled for this week is Planting Moon, Preparation. A good reminder to slow down this week. With Mercury retrograde, you might not feel like there is much you can do towards achieving some of your goals. Some plans might be on the back burner right now as your reevaluate your approach. Go with the flow if you find yourself needing to restart a project. A time or preparation and evaluation is needed this week. There may have been something that was missed during the initial planning stages. It might be a blessing to go back to the drawing board! You might feel frustrated this week as action towards goals feels thwarted or slowed down. Slow yourself down as well and spend some more time in the preparation stages this week. You will thank yourself for the reevaluation!
Full Blessing Moon Lunar Eclipse in Capricorn
The Full Moon in Capricorn is another Eclipse! On the 16th of July, the Moon turns full and slightly red in the night sky. This is a partial eclipse, we might not be able to see the full effects, but we will be feeling them!
The Blessing Moon is the first Full Moon of the Summer season.
A time of gratitude, contentment and both noticing and enjoying the abundance that is all around.
This Lunar Eclipse might not be a total Eclipse, but it is still a powerful one due to the conjunction to Pluto.
Watch out for impulsive behavior and intense emotional reactions. There may be power struggles that rise up within your personal relationships, or even in the world around you. Scandals and secrets might come to the surface right now. Past wounds might come back up in order to be healed.
Allow these wounds to come back up fully. Don’t push them away for the comfort of others or yourself. Heal them by feeling them fully. Understanding and support from others is out there.
A Lunar Eclipse happens on a Full Moon and amplifies and enhances the lunar energy. The Sun is shining light on the Moon, meaning we are made extra aware of our emotions, relationships, and personal cycles.
This helps us look at things in an objective or impartial way so that we can make changes needed.
With a Lunar Eclipse, the darked moon acts as a reset, while the Solar Eclipse shows us what is still needing to be cleansed or cleared.
This Lunar Eclipse is an emotionally intense one due to the proximity of Pluto, the planet of darkness and death. Secrets may be revealed or bad habits might come to light.
Venus is opposite Saturn, which may bring tension to our romantic relationships, but Saturn sextile Neptune brings us hope. We are able to learn from this if we are willing to communicate and learn from it. With Mercury, it’s important to remember miscommunications might happen. Slow things down and have patience with yourself and others.
Don’t allow yourself to dwell in the chaos without seeing how you could be transformed by it.
The card pulled for this month is Waxing Gibbous, Courage. It takes so much courage to fully sit with your emotions. This Lunar Eclipse might be pulling some intense emotions from you. Don’t run from them. It takes great amounts of courage to show up and fully feel the emotions you might have been hiding from. This Lunar Eclipse is working to integrate big changes from within. It takes courage to step through that doorway towards a new you. If you feel you are lacking courage for the future, look back over the last 6 months and see just how far you’ve come. This week might feel emotionally intense, courage and bravery will be needed in order to not dwell in the chaos that surrounds you.
Last Quarter in Taurus
The Last Quarter Moon takes place in Aries and Taurus on July 24th. This is a great time to finish up any last minute projects you might be working on.
This intense Full Moon may have wiped out some of your emotional energy, but the moon Aries is there to inspire you with some new ideas and fresh energy to get things started, while Taurus helps us see results through diligent daily effort.
Use this week to catch back up if you need to. Ride the wave of perseverance that comes with Taurus. Take the time you need to finish up any of the details you’ve been meaning to. Your sense of practicality and patience with others and yourself will increase this week.
Taurus energy is a great time to treat house plants and garden. You will also be nurtured while you are out spending time in nature. Spend time outdoors tending to your garden, (or tend to your houseplants) and you will notice how the mind naturally drifts to the “inner garden.” Sit here and see what weeding you may need to do in your own life in order to move forward and bloom the way you want to!
The energy this week feels a bit lighter for us as we are finally able to breath in that fresh air the eclipses brough in.
This week is a great time to finish up any last minute projects, but it’s not a good time to rush anything. Make sure you do things right, even if it takes some extra time.
The card pulled for this week is Waxing Gibbous, Movement. It feels like a lot might be happening this week on many levels. With the Eclipses now behind us we are able to start seeing movement on both an energetic and physical level. Like waking from a nap, stretch and feel into your body. Move your body this week. Allow all of these changes to be fully integrated by keeping your body fluid and moving it often. Break up any energetic blockages with yoga or dance. It’s important to allow these changes to be integrated. Allow the energy to move through your body this week.
This Eclipse Seasons reminds us that we are about half way through the year. This unfolding moon cycle is a powerful reminder for us to get back to our original goals and intentions… while reminding us that it is never too late to begin.

Overall, this Blessing Moon Cycle is one of new beginnings, fresh opportunities and a brand new start. It might be a little bit intense so many of us, but it’s a month of transformation and rebirth that so many of us are ready for.
Be gentle with yourself and others this month. The changes that are happening are big and important. It’s a good time to practice self-care as well as compassion for the needs of others.
