2019 Harvest Moon Mabon Ritual

Happy Full Harvest Moon!

Harvest Moon spirit de la lune
Harvest Moon ritual Spirit de la Lune

"Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower."

Albert Camus

The new season is almost upon us and soon the trees will shed their leaves and prepare for the darker half of the year.

Mabon is the threshold for the darker half of the year. A balance of light and dark, the Autumn Equinox gives us a balance of day and night and is a beautiful reminder of balance and harmony within and without.

This year the Autumn Equinox falls on Sept. 21 or 22nd depending on your location and this Full Moon opens the Mabon portal.

Like the trees, we can prepare and shed our leaves too… anything weighing us down, limiting beliefs, habits or patterns that no longer serve us.

This ceremony will help you shed what no longer fits into your life and help you invoke what you truly desire for the rest of the year and darker half.

The Full Moon Ceremony tonight can be done anytime within the Mabon portal between today, 9/13 to 9/22. You can do the first half of the ceremony tonight on the Full Moon tonight and finish the ceremony on Mabon as well. What does your intuition guide you to do?

Part 1: Shedding Your Leaves

What you need:

Cauldron (or any fire proof container)

Black Candle

Shedded leaves

Black pen

Mabon ritual - autumn leaves - spirit de la lune

Go out on a nature walk and look for hints of Mabon, or the new season, around you and connect with the trees and their wisdom. Bring a basket with you and forage for falling leaves. Ask the trees for their permission to take their leaves and thank them for their gifts. Choose how many leaves call to you. And only choose leaves that have fallen to the ground already.

These leaves represent what is falling away and what you are shedding from your life. Bring these leaves home and light your black candle within your cauldron or the fireproof container. On each leaf, write one thing you are letting go of with the black pen. When you are ready, take each leaf one by one, and light the leaf on fire. let it burn in the cauldron and say this spell with each leaf you burn:

Like a leaf falling to the ground,

I shed ________ (say what is on your leaf)

I burn this away, I am no longer bound.

Graveyard+Dirt+_+Spirit+de+la+Lune.jpg

Keep the ashes in your cauldron and on your altar until you are ready to do the second half of the ceremony. Make sure you burn the black candle down completely before you begin the next half of the ceremony. You can burn it all at once or daily until it is done.

Part 2: Invoking the Spirit of Mabon

White candle

Cauldron (same fireproof container)

White Candle

Mabon Incense (recipe below)

A jar to store the incense

Mortar and pestle (to blend the recipe together)

When you are ready to do the second half of the ceremony, make sure you have the ingredients and everything ready near or on your altar.

Take your cauldron with the ashes and candle wax and go outside and bury them in the ground. You can say this blessing while you do so:

Thank you for the lessons you have held for me

Now I bury the past and set myself free

Bring the cauldron back in and place the white candle in it. Light the candle and call in the Spirit of Mabon to bless your ceremony as you begin to call in your desires and what you want to step into now that you have shed your leaves and the burdens weighing you down. you can say something like this or similar:

Mabon spirit ritual spirit de la lune

I call in the Spirit of Mabon to bless this new season in my life.

Guide my intuition as I seek my desires and embody the lessons I have learned.

With a grateful heart I am ready to thrive and call in this new energy with ease and joy.

May this new season be fruitful and for the Highest Good of all.

Blessed be!

With your ingredients and Mortar and Pestle begin to make your Mabon incense, using equal parts or whatever feels good to you.

mabon incense recipe spirit de la lune

Mabon incense recipe:

Bay leaves - write blessings and what you are calling in or focusing on until the next Spring Equinox

Cinnamon

Sage

Rosemary

Dry apples

Mugwort

Any other herbs that feel like Autumn to you (nutmeg, cloves, star anise, etc)

incense recipe portar pestle witchy

Start with the bay leaves and taking one leaf at a time grind it in the mortar. Say this blessing with each one:

I call in ________ (what is says on the bay leaf) into my space

In this new season I embody this with ease and grace

As you grind and blend the rest of ingredients together, focus on this new season unfolding for you, what you are looking forward to, what you are excited about and what you would do and feel embodying these new energies you are calling in. Infuse the incense with your beautiful intentions for this new season ahead of you!

After you create the incense to your liking, store it in your special container for it and sprinkle some on your white candle. You can also move the white candle out of the cauldron and burn the incense in there. Don’t use all of it today, make sure you have enough to use throughout the season. As the incense is burning say this prayer:

smoke and flame spirit de la lune

Spirit of Mabon, I offer these sacred herbs with my desires I am ready to claim

Carry my prayers to the heavens with this smoke and flame

I am ready to flow into this new rising energy,

Blessed Mabon! So it is, and so mote it be!

Now you have a beautiful incense with your Mabon blessings and desires infused into it! Keep the rest of your incense and white candle on your altar and every time you light the candle burn the incense and tap into the energy you felt while you were creating it!

We hope you have a beautiful Harvest Moon, Blessed Mabon and new season ahead!

Corn Moon Card Blessing Ceremony

New+Black+Moon+in+Leo+Moonthly+Energy+Reading+_+Corn+Moon.jpg

Happy Full Corn Moon, beauties!

We hope this moon cycle has been fruitful with blessings and abundance!

Today we will show you how to bless any of your tarot and oracle decks with this powerful card blessing ceremony. Cleansing and blessing your cards periodically can help release stagnant energies and old readings from the cards so you can begin anew. But blessing them as well can amplify and expand your readings. And cards can really help us call in certain energies and archetypes we want to work with in our life!

20190812_120938

It is best to do this ceremony under a Full Moon because your intuition is heightened and the Full moon’s light amplifies and illuminates energies. The Corn moon also amplifies the blessings you are bestowing and calling in with your cards!

This ceremony pairs perfectly with our Spirit de la Lune deck (the Prism edition is still available!), but you can also use any tarot or oracle deck you feel called to work with.

What you need:

  • Your chosen tarot or oracle deck

  • somewhere safe outside to lay down your cards

Optional items for elemental cleanse:

  • Air: Incense or herbal wand

  • Fire: A white or yellow candle (for the full corn moon)

  • Water: Moon water in a bowl or chalice (charged by the Corn Moon)

  • Earth: A bowl of salt and stones to cover each of your cards (they do not necessarily have to be gemstones! surrounding stones will do nicely!)

To prepare, place a glass bowl or jar out under the moonlight for at least 2 hours.

Within that two hour time frame take your chosen deck and and write an affirmation for each card. Write an affirmation based on the energy of the card and what you want to call in.

If you are using the Spirit de la Lune deck, we created one for you!

(There are also blank pages to use for any tarot or oracle deck!)

When you are ready, find a place outside under the moonlight where you can spread your cards out. The easiest way to reset and cleanse your deck is to put them all back in order.

Place the cards facing up toward the moonlight and form a circle with them while placing them in order. If you don’t know what order to put them in look at the guidebook for reference.

20190812_120702
20190812_121315

For our deck, I put the Moon phase card all together, then the Full Moondalas and then the Zodiac cards in the inner ring.

Perform the optional Elemental cleanse/blessing now. Read further down for details.

Leave your cards out under the moonlight until the next morning. To secure them down place stones on top of them. If you do not feel comfortable leaving them out all night, let them charge at least 2-3 hours under the moonlight.

20190812_115933

The next morning…

When it is time to gather your cards have take your affirmations ready. Going in order pick up your first card and stone and say aloud the affirmation the goes with it 3 times. Really claim it! You are calling in this energy into your deck and your life!

You can keep the stones you used and place them in a basket or in your garden to keep the energy near you.

Go around and picking up each card and stating each affirmation 3 times. Feel the magick of each affirmation settle into your body and fave fun!

Planner Update!

We will be discontinuing 2019 Tune to the Moon Planners at the end of August! And we will be selling the extra stickers very soon! We are still working on the 2020 planner and trying to find a local printer still! That is a small feat in itself!

Optional Elemental Blessing & Cleanse

Pic of the elements

After your cards are all laid out how you like them get your items out for each element.

Starting with Air and in the direction of East. Always moving clockwise around the circle, take your incense or herbal wand, light it, and waft the smoke over your cards and say:

“By Air you are renewed.”

When you get back to where you are began, waft the smoke over your body and say, “By Air, I am renewed.”

Move to the South for Fire. Light your candle and slowly and carefully move around the circle clockwise hovering the candle over each card saying:

“By Fire you are purified.”

Once you get back to wear you started, hover each candle over your chakras moving downward and then back upward saying, “By Fire, I am purified.”

Move to the West for Water. Take your moon water and lightly flick water over the cards as you move clockwise saying:

“By Water, you are cleansed.”

When you get back to the west drink a little bit of the moon water and say, “By Water, I am cleansed.” and pour a little but onto the Earth.

Move to the North for Earth. With your bowl of salt, as you walk clockwise, sprinkle the salt around your cards and say:

“By Earth, you are protected.”

When you get back to the North, sprinkle some salt on your tongue and say, “By Earth, I am protected.” Then proceed to place each stone over your cards.

We hope this Blessing Card Ceremony brings in more abundance and blessings for you throughout the rest of the year!

Please share your cards and ceremonies with us! Happy Full Corn Moon!

Dandelion Divination & Tea Leaf Reading Ritual | Full Honey Moon in Sagittarius

Happy Full Honey Moon!

Tonight’s Full Moon shines bright in the expansive and optimistic sign of Sagittarius. Our days continue to grow longer and warmer here in the Northern Hemisphere as we get closer and closer to the Summer solstice happening later this week.

As the days get brighter and busier, it’s more important than ever to take the time to appreciate the sweeter things in life.

The Honey Moon is known by many names in various cultures… it’s sometimes referred to as the Strawberry Moon, Rose Moon, and the Mead Moon. The one thing that each of these names has in common… sweetness!

Spirit de la Lune Honey Moon in Sagittarius | Dandelion Divination Tea

This happy and bright Full Moon is reminding you to savor the sweetness that surrounds you right now. Look at how far you’ve come so far and celebrate!

This Full Moon in Sagittarius has us looking at the bigger picture with greater ease than ever before. While making detailed future plans might be hard right now, looking at your present situation or even your past under the light of Sagittarius can help you realize just how far you have come in the last year or even 6 months!

This Full Moon is also being influenced by expansive Jupiter and dreamy Neptune which brings us a heightened sense of abundance, brighter optimism and enhanced intuition for the rest of June.

During this Full Moon, our intuition and divination skills will be enhanced. Sagittarius ramps up our curiosity and has us wanting to explore our inner worlds with a fiery enthusiasm. Keep an open mind this week and get to know yourself and others better. There is a combination of wanting new adventures and connections, while also coming to know yourself better.

The Honey Moon is also associated with the Honey Bee! Humans and honey bees have had a long and close relationship where we rely on each other immensely!

Many of our plants and the foods that we eat depend on bees to pollinate them so that they can reproduce and create new life. Our dependence on our honey bee friends goes way back! The honey bee has long been known as messengers between worlds. It even used to be customary to inform household bees of big news or family deaths of the house.

Being messengers between the land of the dead and the land of the living, they are also thought to be great aids for divination and seeing beyond the veil. Using their honey in spell work and magick cooking adds a level of sweetness and grace to your intentions.

Dandelion Divination and Tea Leaf Reading | Full Honey Moon in Sagittarius

For this Full Honey Moon we wanted to honor our enhanced intuition whiling working with honey bee magick for a Divination Tea Leaf Reading Ritual.

Tea leaf reading is also known as Tasseomancy. It originated in the middle east during the medieval period, but has spread and branched out quite a bit. There are now many versions of this divination and scrying method.

This is a technique that anyone can learn to do! Tea leaf reading involves seeing patterns and symbols in tea leaves, then interpreting the symbols… very similar to tarot and oracle card reading.

You just need your intuition, imagination & some tea!

You can use any loose leaf tea or herb you want to for this ritual, but we are using dandelion and mint for tonight’s tea leaf reading.

We chose to use dandelion because it’s a very simple and overlooked plant that is likely already in your yard… and it has psychic enhancing abilities!

Dandelion Divination and Tea Leaf Reading | Full Honey Moon in Sagittarius

Many think this plant to be a weed… and while it CAN be invasive, the benefits of dandelions outweigh any annoyances. You can use every single part of the plant… and as long as no weed killer has been sprayed on it, it won’t do any damage to you or the bees!

Picking the flowers and leaves off dandelions will actually promote new growth for the plant... Taking an entire plant out of the ground (root and all) will leave space for another dandelion plant to grow in it’s place!

Utilizing these plants instead of spraying them with weed-killer or mowing over them is the best thing we can do for our plant and bee friends!

Dandelion Divination and Tea Leaf Reading | Full Honey Moon in Sagittarius

Dandelion is associated with the element of air and the planet Mercury. It’s a great plant for enhancing intuition, divination and even channeling or communing with spirits. Dandelion can help strengthen your psychic abilities and enhance your intuition.

Not only is Dandelion a great plant for your soul, it’s a great plan for the body too! Dandelion can help boost your immune system, improves liver function and protect the liver. It can help with weight loss and aid in digestion, fights cancer, strengthens the kidney and bladder and the bones! It’s full of Vitamin A and has high amounts of fiber.

Don’t let this precious plant go to waste assuming it’s a just a weed!

(Dandelion tea has very few side effects. Certain individuals might experience an allergic reaction when drinking this tea or using dandelion. If you suffer from allergies to the live dandelion plant or other plants in the Asteraceae family, use caution! Dandelion root tea may also cause contraindications with certain medications—especially diuretics. It might be a good idea to ask your doctor before drinking herbal teas if you take any medications.)

Dandelion Flower Tea Recipe

Dandelion flowers make for a delicious warm or iced tea. Add in a little mint or lime and this sweet tangy tea will strengthen you from the inside out!

Dandelion Divination and Tea Leaf Reading | Full Honey Moon in Sagittarius

Step 1: Harvest Your Dandelions

Gather about 10-20 dandelions from your garden. Choose dandelions in a place where you know hasn’t had any weed killers or pesticides sprayed on them. Be sure to thank Mother Earth and the Bees for providing us with this plant as you take what you need! Don’t worry about not leaving many flowers behind… picking the heads off will inspire the plants to grow new flowers!

Step 2: Wash and Rinse

Remove all the stems and leaves and place the yellow flowers in a strainer. Rinse well using cool water.

Step 3: Make Your Tea

In order to read tea leaves you will need some finer ground leaves or plant material to work with. Using your fingers, “unwrap” the yellow petals of about 5-6 dandelions and place in your cup. Shred up some mint leaves or any other herbs you feel like drinking and reading with. You can put larger flowers and leaves in your tea up as well.

Dandelion Divination and Tea Leaf Reading | Full Honey Moon in Sagittarius

Step 4: Steep then Strain

Add 1 cup of hot or boiling water to your tea cup and let steep for 5 to 8 minutes.

This is a great time to come up with an intention or a question to use as your guide for your reading!

Once your tea is a nice yellow, strain away any large flowers and leaves. I chose to keep some petals and leaves in my tea so I could read them later.

You are free to strain your tea to your preference, but big flowers could make it hard to sip!

Dandelion Divination and Tea Leaf Reading | Full Honey Moon in Sagittarius

Step 5: Sweeten and Sip

Sweeten your tea using local honey. Local honey from your neighborhood bees contains many enzymes, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals that your body needs.. because the honey is made locally, this can even help prevent seasonal allergies from sneaking up on you!

Light a candle and intentionally sip your tea.

This is a great time to slow down and appreciate the sweeter things in life! The Honey Bee reminds us to not get too lost in the productivity of the day to day life.

Mindfully enjoy your tea. Use the candle as an anchor so you don’t mindlessly slip away or start working on something new while you enjoy your tea!

Dandelion Divination and Tea Leaf Reading | Full Honey Moon in Sagittarius

Step 6 – Swirl and Drain

When the tea is all but gone and there is a small amount of liquid at the bottom of the cup, swirl the liquid around the cup a few times.

Many people prefer to swirl 3 times in a clockwise motion, but there are no true rules. Follow your intuition on what works best for you.

Leave your cup upside down on your saucer for a few moments so the rest of the tea can drain.

Reading The Leaves

Dandelion Divination and Tea Leaf Reading | Full Honey Moon in Sagittarius

Pick up the cup and point the cup handle towards your right. This will establish top/bottom and past and future. Symbols which appear to the left of the handle relate to the past, and those on the right relate to the future.

Look carefully at the tea leaves for any shapes or symbols that might pop out at you. You might have to blur your eyes and see what basic shapes come out first.

Common symbols include hearts, birds, animals, cups, boxes, crosses, arrows, suns, moons and trees, but you could see anything! Your intuition and imagination will guide you. The tea leaves are just a tool to enhance your intuition even further.

Here is a list of symbols you might see and what they mean, and below are two reference images you can use… again use your intuition! If you don’t want to use a guide, you don’t have to!

Dandelion Divination and Tea Leaf Reading | Full Honey Moon in Sagittarius

You don’t have to use a fancy tea reading tea cup either! A plain tea cup and saucer work perfectly for both beginners and professionals alike.

It’s all up to your intuition and imagination, and with this Full Honey Moon in Sagittarius, your intuition will be extra sharp for the next few days. Full Moon energy can be felt days before and after the lunar event, so be sure to take a walk sometimes this week and gather up your dandelions! The bees will thank you and aid you in the process of learning something new about yourself.

Happy Full Moon!

DIY Moon Board Creation

Full+Flower+moon.jpeg

Happy Full Moon lovelies!

We want to share a fun project with you that you can begin for the next Moon cycle! It is what we call a “Moon Board” similar to a vision board or mood board, but with a Lunar twist of course!

We will show you how to create it and work with it throughout the Moon phases to really amplify, tune in, and manifest your intentions and goals. Get your scissors and glue ready and let’s begin!

Spirit de la Lune DIY Moon board
Spirit de la Lune DIY Moon board

What you need:

  • Black poster board or Cork board (you can use chalk paint to paint it black)

  • Washi tape

  • metallic pens/markers (to show up on the black board)

  • Scissors

  • Modpodge, glue, or tacks/pins

  • scissors

  • Magazines

  • glitter/stickers, anything you want to make it pretty and unique!

  • Your Moon Sign Compass or Moon compass from your Tune to the Moon Planner

Spirit de la Lune DIY Moon board

First divide your board into 4 even sections with the washi tape or metallic pens. The black board is optional, but I highly recommend it because it truly makes everything pop and it looks very Lunar ;)

Each section represents the 4 main turnings of the Moon cycle: the New Moon week, the First Quarter/Waxing Moon week; the Full Moon Week; and the Last Quarter/Waning week. Feel Free to write down each date for the four turnings in each section and what sign they are in. Or you can keep it blank so you can keep reusing this! That is also why I also suggest a cork/bulletin board. Either is great! You can always find the dates for the moon cycle on our New Moon energy reports, or the Tune to the Moon planner! But if you have a moon app that works too!

Spirit de la Lune DIY Moon board

Secondly, put your Moon Compass in the center of the board. We always align our New Moon with the east quadrant and our Moon Compass is the same. So the moon phases on the compass should align with your Moon phase sections on the board.

A Moon Compass helps you track your energy or intentions daily with the moon phases. The more you track your energy the more you can see patterns emerge so you can understand your unique flow of energy better. We have a free Moon Compass you can download here or you can use your Tune to the Moon Planner. Marissa also has a Lunar e-book that teaches you all about Moon charting!

Please note: The Moon Compass will be opposite for the Southern Hemisphere, so create your quadrants according to your Moon Compass so they all align.

Now that you have your Moon Board prepped and ready for the next Moon cycle, read below how to use The Moon Board during each Moon phase!

When the Moon is New…

Spirit de la Lune DIY Moon board

Now that you have placed your Moon Compass… on the actual date of the New Moon for the Moon cycle up ahead you can use this board and write your intentions and begin to track your energy daily by coloring the moon slices!

Before you begin using your Moon board, think about your intentions and goals for this next moon cycle. Grab your journal and answer the following questions:

How do you want to feel?

What do you want to accomplish?

What do you want to set into motion?

What do you want to release?

What lights you up right now?

What is your New Moon intention/goal/desire?

What is your vision for this Moon Cycle?

Begin to scour your magazines and find images and words that align with your vision. Have fun! Put on some music and ignite your creativity!

In the New Moon Quadrant write your intentions and glue your images and words into this section creating your first mini vision board!

Other things you can do too during the New Moon phase/week:

  • Pull a tarot/oracle card for each quadrant… what is the current energy showing you? What does it reveal about your next step?

  • Keep you moon board somewhere you can see everyday and interact with it everyday by coloring in your moon slices and reading your intentions out loud

  • Choose a crystal for this week and program it with your intentions

  • Carry this crystal with you during the day and sleep with it at night

  • Before you go to bed each night this week, smudge your bed/your aura and ask your Higher Self to reveal any messages you need to hear during your dreams

When the Moon is Waxing..

Spirit de la Lune DIY Moon board

The First Quarter Moon phase is all about action, momentum, and ignition… but not just any kind of action. Inspired action is key!

Everyday during this week, do this mini inspired activation meditation using your Moon board and a candle. It doesn’t have to be long, just long enough for you to get tuned in and spark your inspiration.

Sit in front of your Moon board, light your candle and have your journal ready. Invite your Higher self, your guides, the Universe to sit with you. When you are ready, ask yourself any of these questions:

What is my Soul calling me to do today?

How can I be of service today?

What is the message I need to share today?

What am I inspired to do today?

Notice, the questions are focusing on TODAY. Stay in the present moment during this phase. You have already focused on the bigger picture during the New Moon week, now it is time to trust your intuition and begin where you are at. The time is NOW.

Sit with these questions and gaze into the flame. Write any messages you receive and when you feel ready, read your journal entry and choose something you feel called to do.

Write one inspired action on your Moon board and put your focus and energy into this one next step.

As you keep flowing with this exercise you may want to add more than one step a day, but just start with one inspired action for now, so you don’t get overwhelmed.

If you do this everyday during the First Quarter week, you should have about 6-8 inspired actions steps you actually took this week! That is amazing! You are amazing!

Other things you can do during the First Quarter phase/week:

  • Feel free to draw a card for each day to gain more clarity for each inspired action

  • Is there a crystal that can help you stay motivated and inspired this week?

  • Does each inspired action have a crystal to work with?

  • Feel free to pin/tape you other to-do lists in this section, this is a time to get sh** done!

  • Also feel free to add anymore images and words/affirmation to this section

  • Keep moon charting daily!

When the Moon is Full…

Spirit de la Lune DIY Moon board

The Full Moon illuminates everything in your life. She illuminates the good, the bad, and everything in between. Now is the time to cultivate gratitude in your life and focus on the blessings. Open your heart to compassion, forgiveness, grace, and love.

Surrender to the flow.

This week with your Moon board, create a new kind of list. I gratitude and blessings list. Have a glass of water and your journal handy and answer these questions each day:

What am I grateful for today?

What I accomplishing?

What blessings have I received this day?

What is opening my heart?

What is my intuition guiding me to do?

What am I loving about myself right now?

Answer those questions and write a couple of the most meaningful ones in the Full Moon quadrant. When it is the Full Moon, take your glass of water and charge it with all the things you wrote on your Moon Board. Hold your glass heart level and repeat aloud what you wrote. Let the water charge under the Full Moon and drink this beautiful Moon-charged elixir the next morning!

Other things you can do during the Full Moon phase/week:

  • Try one of the Spirit de la Lune spreads created for that exact Full Moon (you can find it in the guidebook)

  • Place a rose quartz of clear quartz in your water to amplify the energy!

  • You can also take you charged moonwater and put it in your bath instead

  • Color in the Full Moon Moondala in the Tune to the Moon planner!

  • Also feel free to add anymore images and words/affirmation to this section

  • Keep moon charting daily!

When the Moon is Waning

Spirit de la Lune DIY Moon board

The Moon cycle is winding down and all the energy you have built up and created during the Moon cycle is now coming back down to earth. This means you could begin seeing your goals and intentions coming to fruition and completion, or it is time to release them and let them go and learn from them.

This week get your journal out again, and choose a dark or black stone to help you release and let go of this Moon Cycle. Answer the questions below:

What did you complete this Moon cycle?

Did you complete your intention?

Did this Moon cycle progressed as you envisioned it would?

Did your intention change or shift?

What did you learn?

What are you letting go of?

What are you looking forward to?

Write at least one thing you are letting go of each day on your Moon board is the Last Quarter quadrant. Take your dark stone and ask it to help you release whatever you wrote down. Lay it out under the moonlight on the earth each night this week. IT is import to place it on the earth because Mother Earth will be absorbing this energy and transmuting it for you. Place the stone on the Moon Board during the day.

Other things you can do during the Waning phase/week:

  • Practice grounding meditations sitting on the earth under the moonlight

  • Make a list of everything you are letting go of and in it to the board, later you can burn it in a fireproof container

  • Get to bed earlier and focus on rest

  • Prep your next Moon Board!

  • Keep moon charting daily! PLEASE NOTE: The Moon compass may miss the last 2-3 days of the Moon cycle… this is the Dark Moon phase and a time to rest and just be.

We hope you enjoyed this DIY and we hope you make your own! Please share pictures with us!

Full Super Planting Moon Crystal Grid Creation

Happy Full Planting Moon and Equinox Blessings!

This Full Super Moon is the Planting Moon in the sign of Libra, a sign that loves balance and structure… it is also taking place on the Equinox. This Full Moon holds potent energy!

We are all experiencing a new shift in the energy with a new season ahead of us! The Equinox seasons are a time of balance, and we thought this would be a wonderful time to teach you how to create a crystal grid to help you align your energy to your intentions and desires, bringing you into the balance with your purpose and truth.

This Full Super Moon is the Planting Moon in the sign of Libra, a sign that loves balance and structure… it is also taking place on the Equinox! This Full Moon holds potent energy!

Putting different crystals and stones together in geometric patterns activates the crystalline energies of each crystal and generates a beautiful union of their energies. A crystal grid channels a vortex of hyper-focused intention and pure healing energy from Gaia. Crystal grids are beautiful, creative, and very fun and meditative to make. And when aligned with the Moon phases (this Full Moon!) you can learn to work with the energies of the cosmos and with Gaia to truly manifest your desires in the physical realm.

Intention is key.

First, you must know your intention for your crystal grid. Why do you want to make a crystal grid? What needs healing energy right now? What needs to be activated within you? What feelings do you wish to invoke with this grid? Choose your crystals accordingly. This process alone will take intention and research. You do not need to buy all new stones to make your crystal grid – start with what you have and follow your intuition. You can make your grid as large and complex, or as small and simple as you wish. Do what feels good to you.

We always begin with the center stone -the core essence of your grid that gets programmed by the surrounding crystals. This can be a cluster, generator point, a sphere, a specimen, or even a small tumbled stone - but it typically is different than the rest. The center could even be a candle, tarot card, an affirmation, statue, or talisman you want to be charged with the crystal energies. You can use a Moondala card from the Spirit de la Lune deck!

Spirit de la Lune Full Planting Moon Crystal Grid Ritual

If you are having a hard time choosing your intention, draw a tarot or oracle card and place it at the center. You can place the stones over your card or spread. Choose as many other stones as you want to go around your center stone that have complimenting energies. Having multiple of the same stone will build that specific energy. Having a variety of stones will each add their own unique vibrational signature. The choice is always up to you and what you have on hand. There is no wrong way of doing this!

Program your crystals.

Before you lay each stone, (starting with the center stone and working outward) hold each stone (you can hold each one individually, or multiple in your hands) near your heart and pour your intention into it. Visualize pure crystal energy coming up from the earth into your body, and pure stardust galactic energy from the Heavens pouring through your crown – let both energies meet at your heart center and pour into your stones. Use all your senses, and focus on your intentions and the feelings you wish to invoke. The crystals will hold these energies. I personally believe all stones are programmable. They want to connect with us and help us on our journey. Each stone you have has already chosen you too. Remember that!

Setting up Your Crystal Grid

IMG_8773.JPG

Now set up your grid from the center stone and moving outward in a clockwise motion. Remember to set up your grid with humbleness and reverence. We are activating the crystalline grid of the earth, our bodies, and other realms while creating this powerful vortex-energy. When creating crystal grids you are shifting the grids of the old paradigms and creating new ones! This is very powerful earth magick! The Flower of Life mandala is a great sacred geometric map to align your grid with. Traditional grids are symmetric for even energy distribution, but as you create intuitively and work with your stones, create a design that appeals to you and your intentions. Think of it as a crystal mandala (or snowflake!) -no one will ever make this mandala ever again! Each stone and design is different -you are also activating the powerful and unique crystal healer within you and bringing your own vibe to this creation!

Activate your grid.

Spirit de la Lune Full Planting Moon Crystal Grid Ritual

After laying each stone, take a crystal point and use it as a wand to activate the grid. If you have a traditional wand already, you can use that instead. Or simply use your dominant index finger. Begin and touch the center stone/object with your wand of choice, and from there touch the top crystal (twelve o’clock position) and moving clockwise, touch the next crystal (one o’clock), and then touch back to the center stone. Next, from the center stone touch the stone at one o’clock position then the two o’clock position, then back to the center, and so forth. You are drawing a line of energy and connecting each stone together. Think connect the dots, but always bringing the energy back to the center stone. Really visualize this line of energy you are creating through each crystal connection. What color is it? How does the energy feel? While you are doing this, infuse the grid with your intentions… What feelings and emotions do you want to program into the grid? Truly feel those emotions surface. Do you feel the vibration and aura of the grid growing and shifting? Are you feeling any different? Go around the grid at least once until you are back up to the top stone and connecting it back to the center. I personally prefer to go around in 3’s, but you can always go around as many times as you feel called to. But always complete the circle by ending at the top of the grid and back to center stone. Depending on how complex and layered your grid is, it could take a while! Stay focused and soften your gaze, opening your third-eye, and you may find yourself in a trance or peaceful meditative state! This is the basis for creating and activating a crystal grid!

IMG_8768.JPG

If you created it on a tray or plate, place it under the Full Moon to charge it!

Keep the grid up as long as you feel you need it, or until you feel it has done what it needs to do. If animals or little’s knock it down, it usually is a good indicator that the crystal grid has shifted what it needs to shift and is no longer needed, or it is time to readjust it! However, if your intuition says otherwise, you can always reactivate it and set it up again (try to find a place it can be left undisturbed). See what unfolds and trust the crystals are assisting you in the way you need, not necessarily the way you would prefer. Crystal grids teach us to trust the process.

Invoking the Supermoon - Creating Lunar Eclipse Intention Incense

Spirit de la Lune Full Moon Eclipse

Happy Full Supermoon & Lunar Eclipse!

What a beautiful & powerful way to kick off the New Year!

A Super Moon is what happens when the moon is closer to the earth than normal making her appear larger in the sky. This event can intensify our emotions, enhance our intuition, and can even bring about unexpected news or events.

This Supermoon is also a Lunar Eclipse! This will intensify our emotions even more while bringing us new revelations and insight. Lunar Eclipses also have the ability to bring us life altering news, so expect the unexpected with this one!

A Lunar Eclipse is when the Sun is opposite the Moon, this lets us take a look into our emotions and close relationships in a different way, with fresh eyes and new perspective. You might feel overly aware of the imbalances in your life on top of your enhanced sensitivity. The Moon is also square Uranus, which can cause moodiness, impatience and impulsive reactions.

Allow the Lunar Eclipse to help you stay objective so you can keep your mind set towards growth and progress.

This is also the Sage Moon according to the Spirit de la Lune Deck and Planner. Each Full Moons has varying names according to different cultures throughout history. This month, according to our system marks this as the Sage Moon. A time of cleansing and making way for the potential growth that lies ahead.

Remember that major shifts are taking place... this can open you up for so much growth ahead. Trust this Divine Cosmic Energy and allow it to transform you. Get proper rest and don’t forget to stay hydrated!

You might be feeling extra sensitive during this time. Check in with yourself often. Be sure you aren’t picking up the emotions of others! Burning incense or sage can be a great way of cleansing yourself. (Even science says it has benefits of killing bacteria in your home!)

For tonight’s ritual, we are creating intention incense! Because this Full Moon takes place in both Leo and Cancer depending on locations and time zones, we are also including a meditation for both!

Lunar Eclipse Intention Incense

Honor the Sage Moon Lunar Eclipse by creating your own intention incense to invoke the energies you want in your life.

Spirit de la Lune Full Super Moon Eclipse Intention Incense Ritual

You will need:

  • Whole bay leaves… as many as you need

  • Herbs associated with the current sign or whatever aligns with your intentions

  • Mortar & Pestle (If you don’t have a mortar and pestle, you can use the bottom of a coffee mug over a wooden cutting board, or use ziplock back and a rolling pin!)

  • Cauldron or a fireproof container for burning.

Spirit de la Lune Full Super Moon Eclipse Intention Incense Ritual

Herbs for Cancer:

  • Jasmine

  • Mugwort

  • Rose

  • Lemon balm

Herbs for Leo:

  • Sage

  • Cinnamon

  • Sunflower petals

  • Dandelion

Spirit de la Lune Full Super Moon Eclipse Intention Incense Ritual

Bay leaves are known as ‘Witch’s Note Paper’ and have long been used in spell work!

In ancient times, bay leaves were even eaten by the Oracles of Delphi before giving divination.

Bay leaves are used to enhance psychic powers strengthen intentions and give protection to the user.

You can use almost any type of pen to write your intentions on the leaves too. (Add extra power to your intentions by using a blessed or moon-lit charged pen!)

Spirit de la Lune Full Super Moon Eclipse Intention Incense Ritual

Using your mortar & pestle, grind up your bay leaves. Keep your intentions and goals in mind as you grind your herbs and create your incense.

If you need to grind your other herbs, empty the bay leaves out first. Yes you’ll be mixing the herbs together, but it will grind easier with less in the bowl.

Mix the bay leaves with the other herbs of your choice and store in an airtight jar.

(Remember you can use a zip-lock bag and rolling pin for this if you don’t have a mortar & pestle)

Spirit de la Lune Full Super Moon Eclipse Intention Incense Ritual

During the Eclipse, burn them on your altar in a cauldron or other fire-safe container.

You can use a charcoal tablet to help it burn longer. (Here’s a great guide!)

Watch the smoke to drift towards the heavens carrying your intentions and wishes.

Cleanse your energy in the smoke. Clear and purify your decks and crystals with it. Allow it to burn on your altar to charge your intention and focus the energies you are wanting to bring into your life.

While the incense burns and does it’s work, try one of these visualizations under the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse!

Cancer Energy- The Three Cauldrons

Spirit de la Lune Full Super Moon Eclipse Intention Incense Ritual

In the Celtic tradition, the Three Cauldrons are sacred containers within your body that hold the energies of magick, spiritual wisdom and creation. The Three Cauldrons can be loosely related to the Third-Eye, Heart, and Sacral Chakras, but they are not the exact same energies. They are also linked with the Earth, Sea, and Sky.

Close your eyes and visualize a beautiful cauldron within your Third-eye. What does this cauldron look like? Imagine the Lunar Eclipse energy pouring into this cauldron... What kind of magick begins to brew? Let this cauldron bubble over and flow into the next cauldron within your heart space. What does this cauldron look like? What emotions surface for you? Let the energy keep brewing and flowing through you. When your cauldron begins to bubble over again, let the energy pour into the third cauldron within your pelvic bowl. What does this cauldron look like? And what does your magickal brew look like now? Connect and feel all three cauldrons working together. They are alchemizing your intentions and holding space for your magick to flow. Stay in this space for as long as you like!

Leo Energy - Crown Visualization

Spirit de la Lune Full Super Moon Eclipse Intention Incense Ritual

Invoke the energy of the Empress (2019 is the year of the Empress according to Tarot), and the noble, royal energy of the Leo by closing your eyes and focusing on your Crown Chakra.

Imagine the the beautiful Full Moon shining above you and pouring her Moonlight into your Crown. As your Crown Chakra fills with Moonlight, you begin to feel the weight of a crown on your head and a beautiful crown forms across your brow.

What does your Crown look like? This Crown connects you to the Divine, your guides, and helps you act from your Higher Self. How does it feel to wear this crown? What messages do you receive from the Divine?

Spirit de la Lune Full Super Moon Eclipse Intention Incense Ritual

After you are done with your visualizations and ceremony, you can bury the ashes of the incense or put them in a flowing stream of water. If you’d like to save them, you can use the ash for black salt.

Happy Super Full Moon and Eclipse!

..before we go… we have exciting news!!

The planners are now shipping!

We are so excited to announce that the planners are now in our hands and are no longer in ‘preorders’!

This planner has been a culmination of hard work, a lot of love, obstacles, and frustration... The whole spectrum of emotions have been felt!

Thank you all so much for your love, support, and patience, as we learn to navigate new-to-us production, shipping and manufacturing. It is not easy being a two-woman show across multiple states, but somehow Rachael and I make it work! If anything, we have learned so much from this creation.

To be completely honest, we are still a little hesitant to make the 2020 planner, there were so many delays we could not have foreseen, but moving forward we will definitely do everything we can to ensure everything goes smoothly and timely.
If we make the 2020 planner, we will start creating it way sooner!
Marissa will not be pregnant the majority of the year so that will help.
We will not rely on others to make deadlines they cannot keep.

And finding a local printer is priority... Shipping is cray!

All that being said, it is amazing to see your own creations come to life and manifest physically! You can create anything you put your mind to! Dedication, focus, support, and passion build the foundation for manifesting.

We are so excited to see these go out into the world finally and we hope you love them as much as we do! 💖

2018 Wolf Moon: Seven Ways to Celebrate the Solstice

Happy Full Moon & Merry Solstice Season!

Wolf Full Moon Spirit de la lune Ritual

The Wolf Full Moon this year takes place the day after the Solstice, Yule... the darkest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere, or the lightest day (Litha) in the Southern Hemisphere.

We thought it would be fun to share 7 ways to celebrate the Winter Solstice, and in turn, you can do any of these activities on the Full Moon as well!

Listen to your intuition and choose 1 or more activities below to celebrate Yule and the Full Wolf Moon!

1545350081134.jpg

1. Celebrate with a Yule Log

Yule is one of the seasonal celebration of the Sun and light on the Wheel of the Year. It marks the rebirth of the Sun after the darkest day of the year. It symbolizes hope and renewal knowing the darkness will pass and light will always return. An omen much needed in the cold winter months.

A beautiful and ancient tradition is burning the Yule Log. Evergreens, have always been venerated by the ancients because of their eternal nature and ability to live through the cold Winters unlike the deciduous trees. The Druids would travel deep into the forests in winter to harvest Holly and Mistletoe, and the Yule log was either gifted or chosen on one’s own land and burned specifically on Yule in the hearth of the home.

We can replicate this tradition by burning a specific log in the fireplace, or creating a Yule log and drilling 3 whole in it to place candles in. Write your intentions on the log, sprinkle it with herbs, pour mead or wine on it as an offering to the Fae or the God and Goddess, or Holly King, and burn it the night of Solstice. You can also dress the candles if you cannot burn a full log. Or you can celebrate with a bonfire.

2. Create a Yule Witch's Bauble

A Yule tree carries great symbolism and in a way is an altar in of itself, what we hang and put on our tree is very important to our personal beliefs. So amp up your yule time altar by placing a beautiful and herbal-charged ornament onto your yule tree!

3. Create a Wolf Moon Den

Wolf+Moon+Den+-+Spirit+de+la+Lune.jpg

With Winter in full swing in the Northern Hemisphere, the Cancer Full Moon may be pulling you to stay home and seek nourishment (or gravitate towards the ocean in the Southern Hemisphere heat of Summer). The Wolf Moon encourages you to listen to your body. Listen to your primal instincts and what you need right now.

4. Solstice Vigil

To honor both the dark and light of Solstice hold a vigil for yourself and focus on your intentions and meanings of Yuletide. Turn off all lights and experiencing the longest night of the year, reflect on renewal and peace, what 2018 brought you and what Yule means to you. When you are ready, or when it is the exact time of the Winter Solstice, turn the lights back on to symbolize the birth of the New Solar Year, or watch the sunrise.

5. Have a Solstice Gathering

New+Moon+in+Sagittarius+Moonthly+Energy+Reading+Spirit+de+la+Lune.jpg

The Wolf Moon is a time to celebrate with your tribe, so we thought we would show you how to create your own moon circle and celebrate with all your sistars to bring in the Solstice with lots of love, connection, and joy!

6. Solstice Reading

1545348567374.jpg
  1. What has the darkness taught me?

  2. What am I leaving behind?

  3. What is the light revealing to me?

  4. What is being renewed?

  5. How can I shine my light even brighter than before?

7. 2019 Word of the Year Ceremony

Choosing+A+Card+Spirit+de+la+Lune.jpg

A word of the year allows you to choose something that is a guide or inspiration, a reminder rather than a rigid goal. A Word of the Year acts as an anchor that can bring you back to your center and core goals. Learn how to choose a word of the year for 2019 with our ceremony!

Full Cold Moon in Gemini | A Vision Board Ritual

Happy Full Moon!

Happy Full Moon in Gemini!

And Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate! Tonight is the Full Cold Moon, and those of us in the northern hemisphere are likely going to feel a turn in the weather from here on out as the Full November Moon often marks colder temperatures on the way.

The Full Moon in Gemini is the perfect time for planning ahead and envisioning your future. Typically New Moon’s hold great energy for setting intention, but the Cold Moon represents an ebb in energy, and that couldn’t be more perfect as Mercury is in Retrograde until the 6th of December. Take this time to look at your intentions and goals. Rework what needs to be reworked! Refine your intention.

Spirit de la lune Mercury Retrograde

It might be hard to see what steps to take right now to attain your vision, so take a step back and enjoy the visualization part. Your imagination is a powerful tool!

Mercury Retrograde makes for the perfect time to refine your work, and make plans.

This is the perfect time to shop around and compare rather than make big or spontaneous purchases. Be careful no to sign important contracts, or make life altering decisions right now. You might be prone to changing your mind when Mercury goes direct!

Remember there is no need to hide away during this time. Go with the flow, but expect some delays. Be understanding of yourself and others, and use this time to prepare and plan.

The Moon is in the house of Gemini, an intellectual air sign that loves to ponder and expand ideas. We are using this lunar energy and Mercury Retrograde to create vision boards for our future. A vision board is a tool that helps us clarify and amplify our goals and intentions.

Creating a Full Moon Vision Board

Cold Moon Spirit de la Lune Full Moon Vision Board Ritual

Put simply, a vision board is a place where you put images or words that match your goals and desires so you can see them daily and reaffirm your intention.

There have been numerous studies done on visualization and success rates. Check out this cool study from forbes magazine!

Creating a Vision Board on the night of the Full Moon can be very impactful. Especially if you are combining it with crystals and other elements of magick!

Cold Moon Spirit de la Lune Full Moon Vision Board Ritual

What you will need:

  • intention or goal

  • images and words from magazine clippings, or websites

  • poster board or cardboard, you can do this in your journal, art journal, the back of a notebook etc.

  • mod-podge, glue, or tape

  • paintbrush

  • crystals that match your intention

  • altar

It’s important to begin this ritual with a clear intention. Vision boards can be focused on long term or short term goals. Go back to your new moon intention if you need to! If you aren’t sure where to start, begin by journaling or meditating. Ask yourself where you would like to be in a year, or 5 years.

Spirit de la Lune Full Cold Moon Vision Board Magic Ritual
  1. Meditate on your intention and visualize what it is you are wanting to create in your life. As you do this, check in with your emotions. What would it feel like to attain this vision? What emotions does this vision evoke?

  2. Once you have your intention, Go through old magazines, websites or books and look for images and words that feel in alignment with your vision and the emotion you evoked during step one. The images you choose don’t have to look e

The images you choose don’t have to look exactly like what you are wanting. You are just wanting a visual that evokes the emotion you felt during the process. You can find great magazine for vision boards at thrift stores or online here. Pick words or short phrases that feel in alignment with your vision as well. A good mixture of both will help both hemispheres of your brain, and your subconscious and conscious get to work!

Spirit de la Lune Full Cold Moon Vision Board Magic Ritual

3. Once you have gathered your words and images, arrange them on your poster board in a way that looks good to you!

collage hints:

  • Try several arrangements. Take pictures and compare. You will want to like the way it looks!

  • Glue in layers. Use big pieces for the background.

  • Put the words and smaller images on last.

  • Apply the mod-podge directly to the posterboard. Applying it to magazine . paper will make it weak and curl.

  • Take a picture of your arrangement before you begin gluing. It’s easy to forget how you wanted it once you start gluing!

  • You don’t need much glue with magazine paper. It tends to bubble up, so use thin layers and gently press the bubbles out with your fingertip.

4. Once the glue is dry, it’s time to charge and dedicate your board!

You can use crystals or other meaningful objects to charge your board.

Pleace your vision board on a flat surface, preferable where the Full Moon can shine onto it, and arrange your crystals around and over your vision board.

You can use any crystals that are in alignment with your vision! I used quartz points and rose quartz for mine because quartz can be programmed with your intention and is a great amplifier.

Keep your board charged under the moonlight for the duration of the Full Moon

Spirit de la Lune Full Cold Moon Vision Board Magic Ritual
Spirit de la Lune Full Cold Moon Vision Board Magic Ritual

5. After the Full Moon, place your board on your altar for the remainder of the lunar cycle or for however long you’d like it to keep it up.

It’s recommended to keep your vision board somewhere where you will see it often.

You can add new things to your vision board as you feel! There are no official rules. Make it your very own!

Full Moon energy can best be felt three days before and three days after the actual Full Moon, so you will have plenty of time to gather your magazines if you don’t have any around your house!

Happy Full Moon!

Spirit de la Lune Blessings Marissa Rachael
