Full Moon

Full Super Planting Moon Crystal Grid Creation

Happy Full Planting Moon and Equinox Blessings!

This Full Super Moon is the Planting Moon in the sign of Libra, a sign that loves balance and structure… it is also taking place on the Equinox. This Full Moon holds potent energy!

We are all experiencing a new shift in the energy with a new season ahead of us! The Equinox seasons are a time of balance, and we thought this would be a wonderful time to teach you how to create a crystal grid to help you align your energy to your intentions and desires, bringing you into the balance with your purpose and truth.

This Full Super Moon is the Planting Moon in the sign of Libra, a sign that loves balance and structure… it is also taking place on the Equinox! This Full Moon holds potent energy!

Putting different crystals and stones together in geometric patterns activates the crystalline energies of each crystal and generates a beautiful union of their energies. A crystal grid channels a vortex of hyper-focused intention and pure healing energy from Gaia. Crystal grids are beautiful, creative, and very fun and meditative to make. And when aligned with the Moon phases (this Full Moon!) you can learn to work with the energies of the cosmos and with Gaia to truly manifest your desires in the physical realm.

Intention is key.

First, you must know your intention for your crystal grid. Why do you want to make a crystal grid? What needs healing energy right now? What needs to be activated within you? What feelings do you wish to invoke with this grid? Choose your crystals accordingly. This process alone will take intention and research. You do not need to buy all new stones to make your crystal grid – start with what you have and follow your intuition. You can make your grid as large and complex, or as small and simple as you wish. Do what feels good to you.

Spirit de la Lune Full Planting Moon Crystal Grid Ritual

We always begin with the center stone -the core essence of your grid that gets programmed by the surrounding crystals. This can be a cluster, generator point, a sphere, a specimen, or even a small tumbled stone - but it typically is different than the rest. The center could even be a candle, tarot card, an affirmation, statue, or talisman you want to be charged with the crystal energies. You can use a Moondala card from the Spirit de la Lune deck!

Spirit de la Lune Full Planting Moon Crystal Grid Ritual

If you are having a hard time choosing your intention, draw a tarot or oracle card and place it at the center. You can place the stones over your card or spread. Choose as many other stones as you want to go around your center stone that have complimenting energies. Having multiple of the same stone will build that specific energy. Having a variety of stones will each add their own unique vibrational signature. The choice is always up to you and what you have on hand. There is no wrong way of doing this!

Program your crystals.

Before you lay each stone, (starting with the center stone and working outward) hold each stone (you can hold each one individually, or multiple in your hands) near your heart and pour your intention into it. Visualize pure crystal energy coming up from the earth into your body, and pure stardust galactic energy from the Heavens pouring through your crown – let both energies meet at your heart center and pour into your stones. Use all your senses, and focus on your intentions and the feelings you wish to invoke. The crystals will hold these energies. I personally believe all stones are programmable. They want to connect with us and help us on our journey. Each stone you have has already chosen you too. Remember that!

Setting up Your Crystal Grid

IMG_8773.JPG

Now set up your grid from the center stone and moving outward in a clockwise motion. Remember to set up your grid with humbleness and reverence. We are activating the crystalline grid of the earth, our bodies, and other realms while creating this powerful vortex-energy. When creating crystal grids you are shifting the grids of the old paradigms and creating new ones! This is very powerful earth magick! The Flower of Life mandala is a great sacred geometric map to align your grid with. Traditional grids are symmetric for even energy distribution, but as you create intuitively and work with your stones, create a design that appeals to you and your intentions. Think of it as a crystal mandala (or snowflake!) -no one will ever make this mandala ever again! Each stone and design is different -you are also activating the powerful and unique crystal healer within you and bringing your own vibe to this creation!

Activate your grid.

Spirit de la Lune Full Planting Moon Crystal Grid Ritual

After laying each stone, take a crystal point and use it as a wand to activate the grid. If you have a traditional wand already, you can use that instead. Or simply use your dominant index finger. Begin and touch the center stone/object with your wand of choice, and from there touch the top crystal (twelve o’clock position) and moving clockwise, touch the next crystal (one o’clock), and then touch back to the center stone. Next, from the center stone touch the stone at one o’clock position then the two o’clock position, then back to the center, and so forth. You are drawing a line of energy and connecting each stone together. Think connect the dots, but always bringing the energy back to the center stone. Really visualize this line of energy you are creating through each crystal connection. What color is it? How does the energy feel? While you are doing this, infuse the grid with your intentions… What feelings and emotions do you want to program into the grid? Truly feel those emotions surface. Do you feel the vibration and aura of the grid growing and shifting? Are you feeling any different? Go around the grid at least once until you are back up to the top stone and connecting it back to the center. I personally prefer to go around in 3’s, but you can always go around as many times as you feel called to. But always complete the circle by ending at the top of the grid and back to center stone. Depending on how complex and layered your grid is, it could take a while! Stay focused and soften your gaze, opening your third-eye, and you may find yourself in a trance or peaceful meditative state! This is the basis for creating and activating a crystal grid!

IMG_8768.JPG

If you created it on a tray or plate, place it under the Full Moon to charge it!

Keep the grid up as long as you feel you need it, or until you feel it has done what it needs to do. If animals or little’s knock it down, it usually is a good indicator that the crystal grid has shifted what it needs to shift and is no longer needed, or it is time to readjust it! However, if your intuition says otherwise, you can always reactivate it and set it up again (try to find a place it can be left undisturbed). See what unfolds and trust the crystals are assisting you in the way you need, not necessarily the way you would prefer. Crystal grids teach us to trust the process.

Full Moon in Virgo-Crafting Herbal Anointing Oil & A Candle Ritual

Happy Full Supermoon!

Spirit de la Lune Full Moon Ritual

This Full Moon takes place on the 19th of February and is also a Supermoon!

This is the second Supermoon in a series of three, (we will have another supermoon in March!) but this Supermoon is also the biggest Supermoon of the year!

Pretty cool compared to February of 2018 having no full moon at all!

A Supermoon is when the moon orbits closest to the Earth, making the moon appear larger in the sky, thus amplifying the lunar energies and our emotions.

The moon is symbolic of our inner world, our intuition and our emotions, and this one is the Planting Moon according to the Spirit de la Lune deck. It’s important to take note of what you are “planting” right now!

This Supermoon in Virgo represents a very potent time for manifestation and achieving our goals… Especially with it taking place in 0º which holds total raw potential for new beginnings.

This Full Moon is adventurous and exciting holding lots of opportunities for change. Be on the lookout for good news and a sense of things coming together.

Our last New Moon post talked about answers coming and things finally falling into place… to help make that happen, we’ve put together a special ritual for this Full Moon!

We will be combining several earth elements into an intention oil and then using it to anoint an intention infused candle!

You can do this ritual on the days preparing for the full moon, or on the full moon! Preparing the oil a day ahead can be helpful, but it’s not needed!

Anointing Oil & Candle Ritual

You Will Need

Spirit de la Lune Full Moon in Virgo Herbal Oil Candle Ritual

Carrier Oil (like coconut or argan oil)

Essential oils paired with intention

Herbs that match your intention

Crystals that match your intention

Bottle for the oil

Candle color dependant on your intention

Athame or other carving instrument

Spirit de la Lune Full Moon in Virgo Herbal Oil Candle Ritual

Making the oil:

Using a paper funnel pour your carrier oil into your prepared jar.

Once the jar is about 3/4 full, add the herbs and essential oils of your choice. Be mindful as you add each ingredient. It’s important to remember your intent while you are making the oil!

When you have added all of the herbs and oils, add a crystal or two to the oil as a final intent and offering.

Spirit de la Lune Full Moon in Virgo Herbal Oil Candle Ritual

Give your bottle a good shake and cleanse and charge it under the moonlight surrounded by a crystal grid.

This oil can now be used for anything you want!

Lunar energy can be felt 3 days prior, and 3 days after the Lunar event, so you can make and charge this any time around the Full Moon and still be able to use it!

Depending on the carrier oil you used you can use it as a perfume or hand/lip moisturizer. You can use it to anoint crystals or other special objects. We created it for anointing candles for this Full Moon.

Spirit de la Lune Full Moon in Virgo Herbal Oil Candle Ritual

Intention Candle

A powerful but simple way to solidify and add power to your intention is to create an intention candle!

Choose your candle color based on your intention or goal and come up with a simple word, affirmation, symbol or sigil that will help solidify your intent.

For this Full Moon Ritual, I carved the word “Home” into my candle to help me find the home that I’ve been looking for. I’m hoping that burning it on my altar with the vision board from last November will help give me that last push I need!

Spirit de la Lune Full Moon in Virgo Herbal Oil Candle Ritual

Using an altar knife or athame, carve into your word, symbol or phrase into your candle.

(You can use paint or glitter to help the carving stand out!)

Once the candle is carved and ready, anoint it with your intention oil.

There are several ways that you can anoint your candle and many schools of thought on it.

Some say that rubbing the oil from the top to the bottom of the candle will help bring in prosperity and growth, while rubbing the oil from the bottom up will help banish or get rid of something in your life.

There are no set rules on this, so as long as you rub the oil into the candle with intention, you are anointing it.

Burn the candle during the Full Moon on your altar. Remember to only burn under supervision and during ritual. This will keep your altar safe and your awareness focused on your intent.

You can use this candle to burn written intentions on paper later if you don’t want to burn it all in one night.

Leave your oil bottle and your candle out with your decks and crystals to charge under the Full Supermoon! Don’t forget you can reuse this oil for many things! It’s infused with potent Virgo energy and lots of intention so be sure to use it up.

2018 Crone Moon: Ritual in a Jar And Creating Sacred Space

Happy Full Crone Moon!

This Full Moon takes place in the earthy sign of Taurus, a sign of strength and endurance. In many ways, you may feel your own patience and inner strength being tested. Remember to stay grounded and remain rational during this time.

Venus is still retrograde in Scorpio and is opposite this Full Moon in Taurus. Taurus holds energy of new growth and life- while Scorpio holds energy of darkness and death. Venus, the planet of love, represents our relationships, with others and ourselves. The Moon represents our emotions and intuition.

This means there may be some changes and shifts going on in our relationships, and Scorpio means the transformation may feel chaotic. It’s important to practice patience and forgiveness with others right now. Taurus is also known as the Lover, so remember to not only stay grounded, but in your heart space.

For tonight’s Full Moon we are keeping this blog post pretty simple. We are currently celebrating new life with the arrival of Autumn, Marissa’s new baby, and simultaneously stepping into the season of death as with the arrival of the season Autumn. There is a lot of change happening right now!

Photo Oct 23, 12 32 51 PM.jpg

A good way to stay grounded in times of change and chaos is to keep an altar or a dedicated sacred space in your home.

This is a place where you can set your intentions, perform rituals, and charge your decks, crystals, or other sacred items.

You can light candles on your altar each day to remind you of the intentions you set for the new moon.

Putting your altar in a central location in your home will help you notice and remember your intention as you walk past it each day.

Burn Sage for clearing and cleansing. Light candles for dedication and intention setting. Sweetgrass is burned for calling in matriarchy energy and enhancing love, and Palo Santo is burned for healing and purification.

Cauldron Candle, Lion and Warrior Print, Earth Mother Print

Decorate your altar by placing items or pictures on it that are important or meaningful to you! There is no wrong way to set up your altar.

Change up your altar often to keep the energy and intention is fresh. A seasonal altar is a great way to connect with the current sabbats and seasons.

Tonight we also have a magickal ritual to share with you from Ritual in a Jar! They sent us their Clairvoyance Ritual in a Jar just in time for the thinning of the veils. The jar has everything you need to perform the ritual... The candles, oils, sage, and herbs... The aroma when you open the jar is divine.

Photo Oct 08, 8 36 06 AM.jpg

This is a wonderful ritual to awaken your third-eye, connect to your intuition, and perform before any divination practices you do to really enhance them. I was personally over 40 weeks pregnant and my intention for the ritual in the jar was to find out exactly when my baby girl would be born!

The ritual comes with a beautiful scroll and gives you step by step instructions to perform the ritual to enhance your intuition.

IMG_3483 (1).jpg

After I used the Ritual in a Jar, I used our Spirit de la Lune deck and pulled the specific upcoming moon phases and moon signs for the week coming up. I used the third-eye talisman from the jar to choose the cards. The two cards I ended up pulling were the Waxing Gibbous: Courage and the Aquarius card. October 19th...

IMG_3480.jpg

The day I was actually scheduled to be induced and the moon sign Aquarius. October 19th did end up being the day we had our little moon child, and the day started off in Aquarius, but she ended up being a Moon in Pisces like her mama! I loved that the Ritual in a Jar gave me space to clear my head and open my mind since I had been constantly worrying and fretting about going into labor!

The ladies of Ritual in a Jar are giving our readers a discount code for any of their jars! Use the code: spiritdelalune for 15% off your order!

Photo Oct 23, 12 38 07 PM.jpg

It may be a little too late to try a ritual jar out for this Full Moon, but it’s still a great time to set up your altar and perform a ritual to connect with Spirit. The veil is thinning as we get closer to Samhain, and it’s a great time for connecting with our ancestors and spirits!

4 Life Changing Ways to Cultivate Gratitude Using the Moon's Energy

Happy Full Harvest Moon!

Full Harvest Moon | Spirit de la Lune

Summer's relentless heat is finally beginning to ease up on us as the winds of Autumn begin teasing us with her cool breeze.

The weekend's Full Moon marks the beginning of the Harvest Season for many cultures. According to astronomy author Guy Ottewell, the idea of the Harvest Moon originated in Europe, where the Harvest Moon rises 10 to 20 minutes later each night. A helpful occurrence as the days begin to get shorter as we prepare for Autumn. The Harvest Moon arrives to extend the hours of light so harvest can be done. (Source)

We may not use the light of the moon for farming and harvesting to that degree anymore, but the lunar energy can light the way within, helping us discover and cultivate our own desires.

The Autumn season tends to pull us towards an attitude of gratitude, but cultivating and living in gratitude on a daily basis has many benefits.

Gratitude is both a practice and an attitude. Taking just 5 minutes out of a bad day to focus on gratitude can help shift your mood very quickly... but it also has many long term benefits if done on a consistent basis!

Consistent gratitude is shown to boost overall happiness levels, but it's more than just that... On a physical level, gratitude helps strengthen your immune system, improves sleep function and increases energy levels. Socially, you can connect deeper with others, and empathy, understanding and appreciation in relationships increases. Long term practice of gratitude causes one to feel more productive and feel overall stable and more secure. (Source)

Practicing daily gratitude helps create a positive feedback loop in your brain, which then helps create a positive feedback loop to manifest in your outerworld as well. Consistent gratitude helps us algin to our highest potential.

It is important to continue your daily gratitude practice. Change can take time, and consistency is needed when it comes to creating new habits and adopting attitudes. So, daily practice is important! Because of that, we felt more than one ritual for this moon wasn't as helpful as focusing on creating a cycle of gratitude.

Using the Moon's 4 turnings, we have come up with 4 simple but life-changing daily rituals or practices you can do to cultivate gratitude and step into your most abundant self.

Not only does each moon phase hold its own special energy, but Lady Luna is also a helpful reminder for us! The Moon has been used as a calendar for thousands of years thanks to her visible cyclic turnings.

4 ways to cultivate and live in gratitude using the Moon's Energy

1. New Moon

Gratitude Journal

Gratitude Journal | Spirit de la Lune Cultivating Gratitude

The New Moon energy is always a great time to check in with ourselves and our intentions and the act of keeping a journal is an extremely powerful way to give ourselves that mindful moment. It is important that we are aware if we are steering ourselves in the right direction or not.

Try dedicating a specific journal just for gratitude. While it is important to vent and process our feelings, a special journal just for gratitude could become one of your best friends.

Use the New Moon energy to check in with yourself and your gratitude journal. You could write in your journal during the New Moon/Waning Moon phases as a way to check in with yourself, or you could choose to write in your journal daily, and use the journal to come up with your New Moon intentions. Charge and store your gratitude journal with your crystals or on your altar, or carry it in your purse for when you need a quick mood boost while on the go!

Taking just 5 minutes at the beginning of each day to jot down a list of what makes you feel appreciation and gratitude can radically shift your entire day's direction and help you stay clear minded and positive, while also helping you build new positive thought habits on a long term basis.

2. 1st Quarter

Gratitude Candle

IMG_0653.JPG

The First Quarter and Waxing Crescent Moon phases hold the energy of the fire realm. Fire is an element that takes both caution and intention when used, making it a powerful element for manifestation and gratitude.

Keep a gratitude candle on your daily altar and light the candle with the intention of gratitude and appreciation. Never allow the candle to go unsupervised by keeping it on your main altar and in a place you can watch it often, remembering it's intention and listing something you are grateful for each time you see it.

During the First Quarter phases, or whenever you are unable to leave the candle at home lit for long periods, sit and meditate with your candle. Staring at a candle flame is a wonderful "anchor" for meditation use. Meditating on gratitude, while watching the calming flame and listening beautiful music or nature sounds can help put you in the attitude of gratitude leaving you feeling positive and energized for the day.

3. Full Moon

Full Moon Blessing Bowl

Full Moon Blessing Bowl | Spirit de la Lune

A Full Moon Blessing Bowl is a beautiful practice you can cultivate from Full Moon to Full Moon! This is also a wonderful ritual to share with your little ones and family to encourage and nurture gratitude and keep the blessings flowing in your home!

You will need to choose a bowl, jar, or basket, to place on your Moon altar (or if you are sharing this with your family, place in a communal area or on your family altar). Label this “Full Moon Blessing Bowl” and feel free to decorate it and make it pretty!

Now that you have your bowl or basket, now it is time to put it to use! In this Full Moon container, you will begin to put notes about anything that you are happy for, proud of, excited for, or something that you are grateful for throughout your day. Do this at the end of each night after you moon gaze and journal. You can even put pictures or items that remind you of something special that day. It could be a ticket to a movie or show, or a feather you found on your walk. Anything that moves you. You can do this activity with your family before bedtime too, or have your little ones create a bowl to keep in their bedroom. Soon your bowl will be filled with gratitude’s and blessings!

To begin the blessings, place a rose quartz stone as your first item in the basket. This stone will represent the love and heart-opening devotion you have committed to yourself. Hold the stone at heart center and say a prayer about what you wish to cultivate through this practice. Kiss the stone and put it in your bowl. Now go charge it under the moonlight!

Do this practice from Full Moon to Full Moon. Each Full Moon place the bowl under the moonlight. You can even transfer your blessings from the last moon cycle into another jar or box. You can go through this box once a year, or once a season, and it will literally feel like a treasure chest! At the end of the year or season, you can burn the notes in your cauldron and the other items you can donate or leave as offerings to the land. This releases the blessings back out into the universe and thus the cycle continues.

4. Last Quarter

Service and Embodiment

Acts of Service | Spirit de la Lune | Cultivating Gratitude

As mentioned previously, gratitude creates a positive feedback loop in our brains, and then eventually manifests in our physical lives as well. One way to continue this effect in your own life is by spreading it to others.

Gratitude naturally makes us less self-centered. Love is the core emotion behind gratitude, and when you spend a lot of time practicing the attitude of gratitude, you will naturally want to spread it to others. Become someone's reason to feel grateful!

The Last Quarter Moon and Waning Crescent phases are a good time to check in with others and see how we can best support those in our tribe. The Earth element can be felt during this time, and it's important to remember that we are always planting seeds.

Random acts of kindness or small acts of love will not only improve someone else's life, they will help you stay mindful and grateful. It's  surprising what a simple "thank you" to someone can do!

Cultivating Gratitude | Acts of Service | Spirit de la Lune

There is a lot of truth in the quote "A person who feels appreciated will always do more than expected."

We aren't saying to be grateful for selfish reasons, but that the attitude of gratitude is contagious.

When people feel appreciated, they show up more. In fact that's how a lot of things tend to work. The more you appreciate something, the more it begins to show up in your physical world. This is the beginning of the positive loop that gratitude can create in your life!

What are some of your favorite gratitude rituals and practices? Have you noticed any of the benefits?

Creating A Corn Dolly for Lammas Under This Powerful Eclipse!

Happy Full Moon and Lunar Eclipse!

Lunar Eclipse | Spirit de la Lune Full Moon Ritual

This Full Moon has had a lot of buzz around it for a while now... And we can all certainly feel why. Things have been emotional and intense for a lot of us! There is a major rebirth under way on many levels.

While New Moons are usually all about new beginnings and fresh starts, Full Moons tend to illuminate what was once hidden from us in order to show us the way to our dreams. This ebb and flow helps us achieve the intentions and goals we set when we use it to our advantage...

Full Moon Eclipses, also known as Lunar Eclipses, usually mean that a BIG revelation is on it's way. Eclipses mean shock, big news, and secrets coming to light. Expect the dissolving of any illusions and a new chapter to begin.

This particular eclipse may be even more tumultuous than we are preparing for...

Expect the unexpected!

Lunar Eclipse By Rachael Caringella | Tree Talker Art

Lunar Eclipse By Rachael Caringella | Tree Talker Art

This lunar eclipse is the longest eclipse of the 21st century. The eclipse is expected to last almost 4 hours- 2-3 hours longer than a typical eclipse!

A total lunar eclipse happens when the Earth comes between the Moon and the Sun, blocking the Sun's light from the Moon's surface causing it to turn a deep blood red.

The sun represents our ego and all we can see easily about ourselves... while the Moon represents our hidden subconscious, or our "shadow" selves. An eclipse causes us to shed our egos. We are vulnerable, as our true nature can no longer be hidden. Our masks must come down, and we are forced to face our deepest selves.

Look for the lessons that are meant to be learned at this time. Be aware of your reactions and reflect instead! Don't forget to back up your computers and hard-drives, because Mercury is going retrograde today!

In our New Moon Energy Report we had mentioned these intense waters and how to best handle them.

For the Full Moon cycle, we pulled the Envision card. "With so many planets retrograde right now, surrender and allow yourself to slow down and reflect. There may not be much that you can physically do at this time, but you can spend a lot of time visualizing how you want the outcome to be. Focus your emotions and visualize the end results if you begin to feel frustrated or doubtful at your progress."

Tonight we are tapping into that visualization energy for tonight's Full Moon Ritual.

This Full Moon is also the Corn Moon

Corn Moon | Spirit de la Lune Full Corn Moon Ritual

The Corn Moon is the first Full Moon of the harvest season.

We have had a few people ask why we are celebrating the Corn Moon in July this year... so before we begin our ritual, we wanted to explain what's up!

Some of the Full Moon's seem a little "early" because Spirit de la Lune follows the traditional Lunar calendar, instead of the Gregorian calendar.

Remember when we had  2 Full moon's in January, and 2 Full Moon's in March? That meant there was no Full Moon for February. This makes the names of the Full Moon's feel early to those who follow only the Gregorian12 month calendar. Spirit de la Lune honors the 13 Full Moons of the year.

Using this intense Lunar Eclipse, and the energy from the Envision card from our New Moon Reading, we thought a Corn Dolly would make the perfect ritual for the Corn Moon!

Corn Moon Spirit de la lune | Full Moon Corn Husk Ritual

Lammas, or Lughnasadh is the Pagan sabbat that marks the beginning of the harvest festival on August 1st.

Corn Dolls have long been used as altar pieces for Lammas since ancient times. They are a recognized figure from many cultures!

In ancient times, the word "corn" stood for the English equivalent of "grain," while the word "doll or dolly" is attributed to the word "idol" stemming from the Greek word eidolon, which means "apparition" or "spirit." This means that Corn Doll translates to "Spirit of the Grain." (Read more history here!)

Our Corn Doll Tutorial have a special extra step that we added in just for this ritual!

Corn Moon Spirit de la lune | Full Moon Corn Husk Ritual

Corn Moon Eclipse Corn Husk Dolly

Corn Doll are traditional pagan magickal charms/figures thought to protect the home or personal wellness of the maker and their household. We are putting a special twist in our dolls by adding some herbs, intentions and crystals into the heart of the doll.

Corn Moon Spirit de la lune | Full Moon Corn Husk Doll Ritual

You will need:

I found my corn husks at the grocery store. They are typically used to make tamales, so you'll have extra husks to try out a new recipe. Or you can get some corn on the cob for your Lammas dinner and use the left over husks from that!

Spirit de la Lune Full Corn Moon Eclipse | Corn Husk Doll Ritual

1. Soak your corn husks in water for about 30-40 minutes until they are malleable.

Strain and allow the husks to dry out just a bit. You'll want to work with the husks while they are still pretty wet or they will begin to crack.

2.Take one husk and cut it so that you have a rectangle/square of about 5-6 inches.

3. Add your herbs, crystals and intentions to the middle of this square. You can use two husks here for extra support if you need to.

4. Roll up the husk tightly.

5. Secure the ends with a string on each end. This is the "heart" and arms of our dolly!

6. For the head and body, tie two larger husks together. (Shown above.)

Spirit de la Lune Full Corn Moon Eclipse Corn Husk Doll Ritual

7. Separate those two husks and then pull them over your first knot and tie another knot. This creates the head of your doll. (You can put some paper or spare corn husk parts in there before you tie it off to make the head of your doll more round and full.)

8. Part the husks again, and slide the arms up between them, as close to the head as possible. Tie off again with a strong knot, creating the waist. Your herb and crystal bundle should be right in the heart of your doll.

9. Trim the arms to the length you want them and cut any loose ties.

You could be done with your Corn Dolly at this point, but there should be sone left over husks for additional decoration if you want.

Spirit de la Lune Full Corn Moon Eclipse Corn Husk Doll Ritual

10. Cut and fold the last corn husk over the dolls shoulders  and an additional layer of skirting and secure the waist with a knot creating a shawl and a fuller skirt.

Trim the skirt in the way you want it and you are done!

You now have a traditional pagan Corn Dolly in time for your Lammas altar that was created under a very powerful Eclipse and infused with your intention.

Leave your doll out under the Full Moon and let it charge with the Lunar Eclipse and Corn Moon energy. Don't forget to thank your doll each time you see it!

2018 Blessing Moon Chakra Alignment Ritual

Happy Full Blessing Moon!

Let's Align with Our Bliss!

chakra stones.jpeg

In order to truly follow our bliss, we must align to our centers once again. Our energy centers, or Chakras, run along our spine and are located along the center of our body. When we align back to our center we can truly connect to our purpose, find clarity, and our bliss will be easy to follow!

So let's do a simple Chakra alignment meditation under the Full Blessing Moon! Gather 7-8 stones, one for each Chakra, your Blessing Moon card from the deck, and a glass jar of spring water. That's it!

The stones shown here from bottom to top: Red Jasper, Carnelian, Citrine, Green Jade, Turquoise, Blue Apatite, Amethyst, and  Clear Quartz.

Let's get started!

Find a quiet place where you will not be disturbed (under the moonlight is best!), and create a space to lay down or sit comfortable. Take your stones and if you are laying down place them along  the center of your body: your red stone by your pubic bone or groin area; orange stone about 2 inches below your belly button; your yellow stone on your belly button; the green (or pink) stone resting on your heart; the blue stone on your throat; the purple stone between your eyes (your third-eye); clear stone at the top of your forehead, or on the ground next to the top of your head.

If you decide to sit down surround yourself with your stones in the same order, or hold them within your palms. And now relax and enjoy the energy of the Full Moon and your crystals. Notice the energy of each stone interacting with your energy... notice any emotions or thoughts that surface and allow them to rise. Are there any messages coming through? Visualize the beautiful Full Moon ray's coming down through your Crown chakra and move down through your Root chakra... cleansing and recharging each of your energy centers.

Stay in this beautiful meditation until you feel revitalized and realigned with your mind, body, and spirit. Feel  free to journal about your experience afterward.

With the same stones you used during your meditation, now it is time to make Chakra Blessing Moon Water!

Depending on the the type of crystals you use, you can either place the crystals in the glass jar with spring water or surround the jar with the stones. Always research which stones are safe to use in water prior to use... or when in doubt, leave it out!

Place the Blessing Moon card underneath the jar and let your Chakra water charge under the Full Blessing Moon in Capricorn! Let is charge all night under the moonlight! You can make a big pitcher or small bottle, whatever you prefer!

In the morning bring your water inside and take the gemstones out. Feel free to drink the whole glass to really help integrate the alignment, or make smaller bottles of this water, or even just water your plants with it. I would at least drink a couple of sips to get the benefits for your chakras!

We hope this simple realignment ritual recharges you and brings you back to center. Feel free to do this whenever  you need a pick-me-up.

Chakra Blessings!

Full Honey Moon Beeswax Candle Making Ritual

Happy Full Honey Moon!

We know this is a bit early for our usual full moon post, but we wanted to be sure you had time to gather any supplies you may need for this Full Moon Ritual.

This Full Honey Moon takes place in the sunny and optimistic sign of Sagittarius. The Archer archetype helps us reach for our goals and lights the way towards expanded awareness.

The Honey Moon is an active, productive cycle and the last Full Moon of Spring here in the Norther Hemisphere. Bees are buzzing and life is churning all around. This is a time for abundance, production, and collaboration.

The Honey Moon asks us to stop and take notice if we are working too hard, or not enough! Do you need to collaborate with others in order to get what you need done? Or perhaps it's time to slow down and enjoy the sweetness life has to offer. Allow the bees to show you the path to fulfillment. Follow that magnetic pull towards your passions the same way the bees feel drawn to the flowers.

Full Honey Moon Bee | Spirit de la Lune

Now is the time to pollinate and plant the seeds and needs of your soul. For tonight's Full Moon Ceremony we are not only doing some candle magic, we are making candles!

We are working with all four of the elements, patience and time, and Honey Bee medicine as we create this sacred tool.

It's a good idea to set an intention as you go about creating this candle! You can revisit your intention from the last New Moon, or create this candle for a specific intention.

Remember to give thanks to the Honey Bee and all of the life giving gifts they offer us. Aside from their sweet, healthy honey and purifying wax, Honey Bees account for 1/3 of the food here on earth! Bees are currently under threat and need us to take precautions in order to save them. For tonight's ceremony, please try to find beeswax from a local or organic source if possible and always try to find local organic sources! Here are more ways we can help.

Beeswax candles are a wonderful substitute for the artificially scented candles that are currently on the market.

Their natural aroma is something you just can't beat or fake. The wax's color is naturally light yellow and turns to a deep honey yellow as it melts.

It's more than just the soothing scent and glow of a flickering beeswax candle that comforts us. These candles emit negative ions that  help boost our mood, increase levels of serotonin and gives us relief from stress.

Burning your candle right before bed can help improve your quality of sleep!

Negative ions also purify the air of mold spores, odors, dust and other particles in the air. They combat the Positive Ions that come from electrical appliances that are often trapped in our house. Read more about the benefits of Beeswax candles and Negative Ions.

Before you begin, take some time to quiet your mind and create sacred space. Open a circle if you wish, or prepare with a clean blessed workspace. Remember we are connecting with the 4 elements deeply for this Full Moon. Listen to your intuition and set a strong intention for your magickal candle before you begin.

What you will need:

(We found a lot of our supplies at thrift shops, Hobby Lobby and Michaels. These craft stores both have a weekly 40% off coupon that can help make things a lot cheaper!)

  • 12 oz beeswax pellets (Or any wax of your choice, just follow their directions)

  • 1/3 cup coconut oil

  • Thick-medium wick

  • 12-16 oz glass jar or containers *

  • Clothespin to prop up the wick

  • Double-sided tape or hot glue to keep the wick in place

  • Double boiler (I used a thrifted pot & thrifted glass measuring pitcher for my double boiler.)

  • Wooden skewer for stirring

  • Ribbon and other decorations. (charms, crystals

*Because we are adding coconut oil to the beeswax, we will have more wax than can fit in a 12 oz jar. You can choose to use a bigger jar, or make a second smaller candle, or follow the bonus tutorial below where I explain how to turn the left over wax into a Honey Moon Healing Balm! *You will need cocoa butter or shea butter and some small containers to put it in.

Honey Moon Beeswax Candle Making | Spirit de la Lune

Step One

Melt the beeswax. Using a double boiler system melt your wax. A double boiler warms the contents of the glass container slowly. You will want to put enough water in your pot so that it covers most of the area where the wax is, and so when it starts to bubble and boil, it will not get into the wax. You don't want to mix the two.

Turn the burner on low and stir it often.

Melting the wax can take several minutes and the stages it goes through are reminiscent of some very delicious foods, so you could probably grab a quick snack as things melt.

After you finish watching your wax turn from melting dippin' dots to mashed potatoes and gravy, and then finally gravy with no lumps what so ever the wax is finally ready.

Step 1.5

While the wax is melting and in between stirring sessions, secure the wick to the bottom of your jar.

You can use hot glue, e6000, or double-sided tape. I happened to have some double sided wall mounts that did the trick.

Using a skewer or a wooden tooth pick push down around the edges to make sure it's good and stuck.

Beeswax is hard to clean up, so it’s a good idea to put some newspaper or paper bags down around your workspace at this time.

Step Two

Remove your wax from the heat and add in your coconut oil. Stir and mix thoroughly so everything is the same temperature.

Beeswax burns very hot, so adding coconut oil will bring down the melting point of the candle, making for a longer smoother burn. This process will keep your candle from “tunneling” and burning down only around the wick. So be sure to not skip this step!

(Beeswax candles and essential oils don’t go well because of that heat ratio... so it’s best to not add any scent to the candle. Beeswax already has a wonderful scent, so there is no need to mess around with it. You can save your essential oils for the bonus tutorial!)

Step Three

Once everything is mixed together, take your inner pitcher out of the water and wipe the bottom with a towel so you don’t splash boiling water on yourself or your work surface.

Pour in about 1 inch of wax into the jar and put the pitcher back into the hot water and keep on a low heat to keep from hardening.

Using a clothespin, or something else big enough for your jar or container, prop the wick up so it stands straight. Allow the candle and the 1 inch wax to set for about 20 minutes.

I kept turning my burner on and off during this time while stirring the left over wax pretty often to keep the wax from setting.

Step Four

Honey Moon Beeswax Candle Making | Spirit de la Lune

Once the bottom layer is set, slowly pour the remaining wax into your jar until you get to the height you want.

Let it set for a bit and add more wax if a pit begins to form around the wick.

Using the clothespin, prop or hold the wick in place while you allow the candle to rest and sit somewhere warm.

Beeswax can crack if it cools and hardens too quickly,

Honey Moon Beeswax Candle Making | Spirit de la Lune

Place the candle someplace warm to let it set. You can place the candle in your oven while it cools after baking something or put it in a sunny place while it sets. My house doesn’t have AC and it was already about 88 degrees inside, so I just sat it on my stove while I made dinner and used the oven. I didn't have any problems with it cracking or curing.

It’s best to let the candle rest over night before trimming the wick or burning the candle.

*Bonus Tutorial*

If you have extra wax and chose to not make a second smaller candle, you can add a bit more coconut oil and some shea butter or cocoa butter to your wax to create a healing salve!

Just return the beeswax to the double boiler pot and add equal parts shea or cocoa butter and coconut oil to your mixture. The final mixture will be 1/3 beeswax (left over wax), 1/3 Shea or cocoa butter and 1/3 coconut oil.

You may need to "shave" or cut your shea/cocoa butter in order for it to melt properly. Add everything to the wax and stir it all together until everything is the same consistency and temperature again. Remove from heat and add in a few drops of essential oils if you want.

Pour into smaller containers and allow to cool before using as a lip balm, lotion or general healing balm infused with Full Honey Moon energy!

Step Five

When you candle is finally set and cool, trim the wax to about a half inch above the wax line. It's time to decorate!

Using ribbon, beads, charms or crystals, decorate your new candle!

Pick a charm that matches the intention you’ve chosen on the New Moon, or pick something new just for this candle.

Step Six

Spirit de la Lune Beeswax Candle Making Honey Moon Ritual

On the night of the Full Moon, burn the candle on your altar as you charge your cards and crystals.

Beeswax candles burn for a long time, so you can relight the candle often!

Use this candle to burn intentions, light your sage or incense. Re-light it on the New Moon, or whenever you may need a boost!

Remember, to never burn your candle unsupervised.

When the candle is done burning, you can either reuse the candle jar to make a new one, or wear the charm as a necklace or keep it on your altar as a reminder!

We would love to see your candles! If you follow along and make a candle with us, please share your photos with us here or by tagging #Spiritdelalune on instagram!

Eclipse Sigil-Making Magick Corn Moon: Abundance

Happy Full Corn Moon & Lunar Eclipse!

This month we are tapping into this powerful lunar event and creating sigils for abundance! Keep on reading to learn how to utilize this energy for your prosperity!

Lunar Eclipse
Corn Moon | Abundance Ceremony | Spirit de la Lune

This is a very powerful Lunar Eclipse with many astrological aspects influencing the energy around us. This Lunar Eclipse takes place in the sign of Aquarius and is paired with Jupiter Square Pluto, which are connected very closely to the sun and the moon.

A Lunar Eclipse happens when the Earth is between the Sun and the Full Moon. The Sun which represents our ego, logic and action, will challenge our emotions, intuition and insight which are ruled by the Moon.

These aspects will be influencing and impacting relationships on many levels. Be prepared for some heightened energy and emotions during this time! Big changes can happen during this time! So be careful what you do and say during these days, as actions have lasting results this week.

Not all of this energy has to be heavy or dark, so don't be afraid of this transit! This time is important for clearing away old residual emotions. The Eclipse can offer us a bit of a rebirth, allowing us to release some of the heavier emotions we have been holding onto since the last Lunar Eclipse 6 months ago.

Corn Moon Ritual | Spirit de la Lune

This Full Moon is also the Corn Moon! A time of abundance, fulfillment and the first harvest.

This is the time to step into your abundance. Many of the goals and intentions you've set forth are beginning to come to fruition.

Take notice of the growth around you, especially during this Eclipse Season!

Practice gratitude and appreciation in order to step into your full stream of abundance.

Last month, we set up an Abundance Grid and this month we are ramping up that magick and pairing it with the powerful Eclipse energy by working with Sigils.

A Sigil is a symbol infused with great intention.

A Sigil is a symbol created to represent a specific goal, intention, or desire, and to aid in it's manifestations.

They are very powerful tools of magick, and are perfect to work with on such a big Lunar Event.

Sigils speak to our subconscious, and help break down barriers towards what we desire.

The process of creating a sigil is very fun, creative and quite simple!

Making a Sigil

You will need:

Paper

Pen

Candle

Create a quiet sacred space to do your magick. Lower the lights, remove distractions, or light some candles to help prepare the mood.

First define your desire. It is important to know clearly what it is you want. The universe can not help you, until you make a decision. This Full Moon is focused on abundance and prosperity, so now is a good time to open yourself up the surrounding energy.

You can either write our an entire sentence, or just use one word. I chose just one word for my sigil, but you can choose several. We will be removing some of the letters and changing it up soon. Choose a word of phrase that feels comfortable and suited to your desire.

If you choose to work with an entire sentence, remember to keep it in the present tense. ( "I am prosperous, I have great abundance. etc.. not "I will have great abundance.)

Next, remove any repeated letters you have keeping only one of each.

(Optional) Remove the vowels. Vowels are what helps us recognize that something is a word and we are trying to take that aspect out! But, if your sigil looks better with the vowels, keep them in!

Arrange your remaining letters into a symbol or a shape.

Or, you can simplify the letters to marks or basic shapes and use those to create your symbol. Remember to make it yours by adding any embellishments you'd like!

Play around with the remaining letters to create a sigil. The can be upside down, backwards, small, big.. whatever you feel called to!

Combine lines of one letter into another. Try to think abstract. Take time to doodle and arrange the letters into a symbol you like! It took me several tries to find out that resonated with me.

I used the C and part of the D to create a moon like symbol in the Abundance one. And combined the S, R, T, P into one flowy symbol for the Prosperity one. (And you can see a few of my other ideas and doodles on the other pages! Have fun creating your sigil, and don't think too much on it.

It is a good thing that your symbol no longer looks like your word or sentence. In fact, it is meant to be forgotten!

Activating Your Sigil

The Activation of your sigil is just as important as the creation part. You have just built up a lot of creative and emotional energy making this sigil. In order for it to work, you must do something to release it and send it into the universe.

There are many methods to activating a sigil. Many practitioners recommend meditation/staring at the sigil, orgasm, or pain, all paired with visualization.. with the point of a build and release process.

There isn't a right or wrong way, so choose whatever feels right to you. Here are three ideas for activating your sigil:

You can stare at your sigil intently for several minutes, allowing your mind and subconscious to absorb it. In a quiet place, where you are undisturbed, meditate on your Sigil. Stare at it with wide eyes, fixate on your symbol. After several minutes, you may see colors or lines around your sigil. Almost like lightning flashes. This will let your know that your sigil has been activated and sent out. Then destroy your sigil.

Another simple method is burning your sigil and allowing the flame to get very close to your fingers. Take caution if you decide to do this one! Allow the flames to get a little too close to your fingers, and at the moment of heat, picture your sigil intensely in your mind's eye and then move your hand away. Do not think of the word, or the sentence, instead just focus on the sigil and let your subconscious absorb it to do the rest of the work.

If you do not want to use pain or flame, you do not have to! There are more enjoyable ways of activating your sigil.

Another method is to use your sexual energy to activate it.

You can tape it to your wall or ceiling on the night of the Eclipse. Pleasure yourself  or engage in sex with your partner. At the moment of sexual climax look at and stare at your sigil. Do not think of the word, or the sentence or even the outcome, instead  focus on the sigil and let your subconscious absorb it and send it out.

When you are finished, destroy the sigil in some way that feels right to you. Some practitioners reuse and reactivate their sigils, while others burn it quickly after activation.

The point is to build up your desire, then release it and let it go, so when you are done with this ceremony. go do something to take your mind off of it. Return back to the real world, knowing that the magic is on it's way.

We would love to see pictures of your sigil or your ceremony tonight on instagram! Be sure to tag us! Don't forget to charge your deck and crystals under the full moon eclipse tonight.
